I think you should get the Argh Scale registered as intellectual property!

Where will the frogs go?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/03/2018 21:36

I hope they will dive deep Spring. Poor sods will have to make frogspawn all over again though.

Grin @ OhYouBadBadKitten

Less than a week out before going back to bed!!!

And they haven’t even started eating yet!

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 15/03/2018 21:54

I'm taking a leaf out of MrsK's book...fingers firmly in my ears !!!

HelenaDove · 16/03/2018 00:21

Braintree Essex on a yellow warning Sat and Sun

Brilliant Hmm

Whatthefoxgoingon · 16/03/2018 01:43

Oh for the love of god, I just put all our winter weight duvets away and even sent my warmest coat to the dry cleaners! Angry

Sigh. My heating bill is will need it’s own postcode soon.

Thanks for the heads up weather goddesses. I refused to believe it till I came here, now I know we’re under the warning both Saturday and Sunday....this summer better be adequate compensation....grumble....grumble

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 16/03/2018 06:44

Forecast for Kent has changed from snow sat eve to snow all day Saturday turning heavier from late afternoon. Dd has a party sat late afternoon and I’m worrying will it be bad enough to make the drive home hard Confused

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 16/03/2018 06:48

Thanks both! Fingers crossed it goes ahead...

LoniceraJaponica · 16/03/2018 06:58

Heavy snow forecast for Sat and Sun here (South Yorks). DD has already had 4 snow days this month.

I notice that the "I love winter posters" have been thin on the ground recently. I can't wait to be able to wear my summer clothes.

InMySpareTime · 16/03/2018 07:32

I'm one of the "I love winter" posters, snow's missing us again as usual.
Can't complain, we actually got an inch or two of snow this year, which is the first time for years.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/03/2018 07:34

Morning all!
I think it's the snow coming so late that means the usual crowd aren't embracing it as usual.

It does look like there will be a band of heavy snow coming through on Saturday night.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/03/2018 07:41

GFS, which differs a little from met office is showing this forecast snapshot for tomorrow lunchtime, then 1am Sunday and Sunday afternoon.

It's a bit of a problem..... a personal 7 arghs tomorrow as I'm off into London and a 7.5 in general for those who come under heavy snow on Saturday night.

I think my scale is tending towards exponential.

Yup, looks like the Snow Shield is fully operational from those maps...

WreckTangled · 16/03/2018 07:47

OYBBK if the snow gets me (Sussex/East Surrey border) will it be clearer by Monday or will our country roads be awful? (Best guess, I won't hold you to it Wink)

Delatron · 16/03/2018 07:51

Thanks OYBBK. You still thinking of heading in to London? I'm planning to but if the snow starts earlier may rethink.

G1ggleloop · 16/03/2018 07:55

Argh. We're supposed to be heading to clacton for the weekend but don't want to get stuck there. It's all single track country lanes to get in and out. We're best not to risk it aren't we?

WreckTangled · 16/03/2018 07:57

WEST not east Surrey. Duh.

LoniceraJaponica · 16/03/2018 07:58

Why is there so much difference between the different weather forecast providers? I have Accuweather on my phone and it is often very different from the BBC forecast (which is currently from the Met Office I believe)

LoniceraJaponica · 16/03/2018 08:00

This is today's weather BTW. Sooo depressing Sad

Delatron · 16/03/2018 08:06

I know Lornica there never seems any agreement between the forecasters.
I just listen to OYBBK and Gloria!

I was looking at a picture taken this time last year (has the date on it). I am in the garden in a vest!! Sun was out, looked lovely.

Roll on Spring!

nannynick · 16/03/2018 08:25

The grit box is empty. I had better park at the bottom of the hill. I wonder if any of the councils will be prepared for this snowfall - may need to consider walking to church on Sunday.

BensonJutton · 16/03/2018 08:41

I used to love Autumn & Winter. But since October I have found the relentless rain & wind, storms, flooding, massive swell, and even ice & snow a bit too much. The weather has caused so much damage locally Sad

I still love cups of tea, open fires & loads of tartan throws but I found myself longing for lighter evenings, days on the beach & evening walks.

Truth is - I'm not sure if we have many beaches left with sand. Dunes are collapsing on The North Coast & our local South Coast beach, carpark & the cafe was all destroyed.

Cliffs have collapsed up & down both coasts closing down beaches and coastal walks.

Is this type of weather the new normal?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/03/2018 08:42

That's a bit risky Giggle.

Wreck, the issue will be that any snow will freeze over night on Sunday and I don't think it will thaw enough first thing Monday. So it depends how much settles (I guess that's obvious!)

I am Delatron, I think it will be ok despite the snow as I think it will take time to settle tomorrow. The ground has warmed up quite a lot. I will consider leaving early if needed.

BBC is from meteogroup. Accuweather uses GFS raw output. The met office I think are the best, through always look at the text forecast as that overrides the snapshot location forecasts which are automated output.

Winter loving poster here Grin.
Have just seen Edinburgh is now under a yellow warning for snow and ice.

Saw a frog on the road the other night, didn't move when I approached it or when I picked it up to move out of the way of the car. I think it was just too cold.

sluj · 16/03/2018 08:47

What do you think. I need to travel from the West Midlands to Hertfordshire during the day on either Saturday or Sunday. Any advice? Many thanks
