North East Peaks (Glossop) and no snow predicted by BBC site. Just cold and windy.

I think we will miss it (south west) Grin very chilly though.

lubeybooby · 15/03/2018 10:56

warnings updated www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings#?date=2018-03-15

GloriaSmud · 15/03/2018 10:58

Think there has been a slight change to the weather warnings, especially for Saturday (edge of the warning area been moved slightly westwards to cover more of England.)

Slight change for Sunday's warning as well.

lubeybooby · 15/03/2018 11:01

Haha! Yeah the app just pinged me to say I was now in the warning area so I knew they had updated

We're now in it for Sunday and veeeeeery close for Saturday

GreyhoundzRool · 15/03/2018 11:01

Dorset here. I can't bear it if we get more snow - it was so stressful a few weeks ago not being able to get to the animals I can't go though that again !

Riverside2 · 15/03/2018 11:31

so....my favourite weather forecasters....is it safe enough to go to Central london for lunch on Saturday? It won't be one of our seven hour lunches Grin

I will leave by 5....that should be okay I think?

I don't actually have to go so any risk of being stuck and I won't.

ReinettePompadour · 15/03/2018 11:35

Im in the yellow area for snow Saturday and Sunday. I'd love it to be sledging type snow as last time it was rock hard and hurt when you fell on it Grin

icantdothis2017 · 15/03/2018 11:36

Lovely.
Let's hope it's short lived this time .
Can almost manage a weekend but no longer

oldsilver · 15/03/2018 11:59

I thought we were going to miss it all in Bris, local rag had gorn all snowmageddon on me but no,. Now seems we are in the yellow warning on Sunday.

It's warmest it's been all week out there - 14.5 degrees

GloriaSmud · 15/03/2018 12:01

Riverside ~ there'll probably be snow showers throughout the day but the chance of them will increase towards Saturday evening.
Might be an idea to keep an eye on the forecast and also do a bit of 'nowcasting' ~ if snow looks like it's settling, decide whether you want to head out/get home.

Riverside2 · 15/03/2018 12:03

thanks Gloria, that's good to know.

NorthernLurker · 15/03/2018 12:18

I need to travel from York to Lincolnshire and back on Saturday. It's for my mums significant birthday. Not bothered by snow showers, anything worse likely?

GloriaSmud · 15/03/2018 12:36

Northern ~ I'd keep an eye on things. The problem with snow showers coming from the east, is that they tend come in streams so once one comes in and leaves a couple of cms, another one isn't usually far behind to leave a bit more! That's what happened a few weeks ago as well and netweather mention the possibility of it happening again here.

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 15/03/2018 13:15

It can do exactly what it wants after Saturday night....!!! Thanks Morvah we sort of border of you, so keeping everything crossed...

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/03/2018 13:33

It's quite a big change to the warnings, especially for Sunday.

My current scientific analysis - it's a 6 on the argh scale.

NL, you really need to keep an eye on the forecast for that journey.

Riverside, I'm still going to London on Saturday.

whojamaflip · 15/03/2018 15:08

OYBBK and Gloria - dd has a very important comp on Sunday morning in Leicester. We usually travel up the morning of comps from the Cotswolds - I'm now wondering if I should be booking a hotel room for Saturday night instead.

Not bothered about the return journey, just need to be in Leicester for 8am Sunday.

Any thoughts?

Delatron · 15/03/2018 15:14

I'm really looking forward to shopping in London on Saturday then meeting friends for dinner. Don't want to get stuck though! I'll go early and if it's starts getting crazy abandon dinner I think. Fingers crossed it stays away. It's the trains I'm worried about.

gttia · 15/03/2018 15:57

I'm dreading this
