Usual disclaimer - Gloria and I are amateurs, fitting this in round our home and work lives. We do our best, we sometimes get things wrong! Please don't make important decisions based on what we say, always refer to the met office website first.

If my Ocado shop gets through it will be a miracle Shock

WreckTangled · 01/03/2018 06:41

My shower pipes have frozen 😭😭😭 I have to go to work with greasy hair. We have a slight dusting of snow but met office is predicting we probably won't get much more. Boo.

GloriaSmud · 01/03/2018 06:41

Morning all,

Yay to those that have snow.

Updated weather warnings (includes the south/SE which I don't think it did yesterday.)

There's a fair bit of snow in the midlands that looks like it quite wasn't supposed to be there!

The snow in the south also seems to have arrived earlier than forecast. Looking at the radar it is distinctly further inland than expected.

Those warnings did included the SE yesterday evening :)

Freezing rain is still showing in the forecast for close to the coast tonight. Yikes.

Oogle · 01/03/2018 06:45

The rain forecast on met office now has it going around us for the rest of the day which is a bit disappointing

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 01/03/2018 06:46

Still nothing here, East Kent. Slight dusting other night, then the odd shower, other areas close by are getting hammered. Sad

See the warnings have changes so there's still s'nope.

GloriaSmud · 01/03/2018 06:46

Ah so they were there yesterday. (I think I'd got 'warnings/weather/thread confusion' by 9pm last night!)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/03/2018 06:50

ok -

Today:Things will eventually start to die back in the NE hopefully, but not for a while yet.
In the mean time we have a good area of snow north of Birmingham, across eastern and central areas.

In the south, well, our turn! Especially in the SW. I still wouldn't be surprised to see red warnings in the Bristol area or in parts of Wales for tonight.

Risk of freezing rain close to the south coast and in the SW overnight. Please do not try and get anywhere at all if that occurs.

Snowing in Manchester - we have had about another cm, so it's steady but not Snowmageddon. THe kids keep asking me to check their schools twitter feeds Grin

My DM has said its snowing again in Renfrewshire.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/03/2018 06:52

For those in the south, this evening I would ignore whether symbols are snow or rain on any automated output. Until it falls, I think it's going to be impossible to predict what will happen.

gttia I'm hopeful that it will fade out for you later today. But no guarantees Grin

I know it snowed overnight here in Fife as I always awake a fair bit and saw it. But the coverage doesn't look much more than it was last night. It has been very, very windy though so is suspect there has been a lot of drifting. Thankfully I don't need to be anywhere today.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 01/03/2018 07:05

I'll take it off your hands gttia Grin

magimedi · 01/03/2018 07:05

Just started to snow here (3 miles inland from Eastbourne).

ThePurpleSheep · 01/03/2018 07:06

Snow has begun falling in the 30mins here in East Sussex (coast mid way between Brighton and Eastbourne) . DC are eagerly awaiting school opening statuses 😀 but so for it's not as muchas on Tuesday, when all schools opened. The difference today is the snow is coming down almost horizontal and the fine stuff on the ground is blowing about with every gust of wind.

youarenotkiddingme · 01/03/2018 07:06

Oogle I'm in F'ham! We are still under amber warning. It possible it'll become rain but something they've said is ice rain and will turn to sheet ice as it lands.
Sounds more dangerous than snow Shock

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/03/2018 07:08

youarenotkiddingme. You are absolutely right, freezing rain is very dangerous.
