Usual disclaimer - Gloria and I are amateurs, fitting this in round our home and work lives. We do our best, we sometimes get things wrong! Please don't make important decisions based on what we say, always refer to the met office website first.

Sole I'm wondering that too! App says about 6pm tomorrow ... (just back from Star City and it was -6 Shock)

justforthisthread101 · 28/02/2018 22:53

Thank you OYBBK, sleep tight

MachineBee · 28/02/2018 23:02

Thanks OYBBK - completely understand your caveats. But it’s really useful to get your take on things. Sleep well.

Haggisfish · 28/02/2018 23:29

The ‘parked car roof measurement’ should become official!Grin still hoping for a snow day on Friday in worcs but we are right on the edge of the weather front...a few miles either way will make all the difference!

HelenaDove · 28/02/2018 23:51

oh FFS Braintree is on a yellow warning for snow tomorrow now.

CarpeVitam · 28/02/2018 23:53

Loving this thread. Thank you OYBBK . What are your observations for the West Yorkshire area please?

TIA

Joining a bit late.
I’m in the middle of the red alert in the central belt of Scotland.
It’s not fun!
My DH works away two days a YEAR and of course it’s now. He’s meant to be travelling back from Manchester tomorrow by train. I’m hoping he gets back.
The lightning snow was pretty cool. Have torches and candles handy just in case!

colouringinagain · 01/03/2018 00:11

Proper big fluffy flakes for the first time this week in Bucks/Herts, wondering what tomorrow will be like!

Sostenueto · 01/03/2018 02:37

Our town and outlying villages here in Suffolk effectively cut off. No buses or trains, all schools shut, roads are absolutely lethal and about 20 cm of frozen snow. Wind has been howling all night loudly. Snow is being moved around in drifts by the wind.

youarenotkiddingme · 01/03/2018 05:47

We ACTUALLY have snow Grin

Weebo · 01/03/2018 05:48

Woah.

Total white out here in Belfast.

I have never seen snow like this here.

Weebo · 01/03/2018 05:52

Not the amount - It has been bad before - Just the texture.

Oogle · 01/03/2018 05:54

you - how south on the south coast are you? We could be neighbours Grin I think snow has laid here (Portsmouth/Southampton area) but I’m avoiding getting back out of bed to check as it’s so cold!

Chrisinthemorning · 01/03/2018 05:55

Me too CarpeVitem
Flowers for our forecasters

boldlygoingsomewhere · 01/03/2018 05:56

No snow here this morning.

OnMyWhistle · 01/03/2018 06:03

Snowing here right on Dorset/Hants border half a mile back from sea. So rare here so v excited!

youarenotkiddingme · 01/03/2018 06:08

I'm between Portsmouth and Southampton in a coastal area - about 4 miles south and you'll be swimming! So pretty fat south!

Far enough south to be surprised and pleased we actually have snow the snow tanks 😂

youarenotkiddingme · 01/03/2018 06:09

I'm not sure why my phone added those last few words 🤦🏼‍♀️

It should say snow for once!

fatsatsuma · 01/03/2018 06:15

Kitten/Gloria, we are N Oxon. The Met Office automated forecast suggests only light snow over the next 24-48 hours which is what we've had so far and it hasn't had any impact really; but looking at various models over on TWO it looks like we might actually get a lot more than that today - I'm confused. I have to do a big journey this afternoon - any advice on what to expect? Thanks so much - you are amazing.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 01/03/2018 06:31

Morning all!

I may take a few moments to gather my thoughts (and wave intrepid family members out into the snowy wilderness)

It seems to have snowed rather a lot here.

you there aren’t many places between Portsmouth & Southampton so I think we’re very close to each other!

Just about to wake DH to make a decision about work
