Freezing rain in Kent....the fun never stops

We've just had notice from ds swim club the leisure centre shutting at noon to allow staff to get home. Obviously the notice was that training is cancelled!

So what do they know about South Hampshire that I don't?!

@Delatron - you sound like you are near me. Is it AJ that you are referring to for the forecasts. I always listen to him but he does say like @oybbk and @gloriasmud that he is just an amateur and that weather is a very fickle thing that can change with a gust of wind. We've had freezing rain and now have some larger flakes coming down. I don't know if I am classed as South or North Bucks - just outside High Wycombe towards Risborough.

updated met office warnings highlighting the freezing rain possibility. I'm worried that people will see rain and think thaw. It's -2c where I am and raining.

Icey in the garden! DS stuck in Betwys Coed on his Geography A Level trip. Meant to travel home today, maybe tomorrow or maybe not! Main roads not too bad here but side roads and pavements lethal!

Oh, and more snow forecast later - joy!

We've got lots of birds around our garden but have run out of bird food - can I give them some rabbit pellets? It's either that or bread :-(

Somerset this morning. Dogs don’t like it at all. It’s frozen on top and they walk on it and don’t sink. Weird.

turnipfarmers ~ did a 'Google' and it came up with this (but it's a question about giving it to budgies) but think it looks OK to use pellets.
There are also some ideas here for what to feed birds.

Thanks OYBBK - yes, I think it must have evaporated on the way down. There's the odd flake, but I've seen more dandruff on my DH's shoulders, to be honest.

My dog went out for a pee this morning and the snow touched his belly. Hes a lab x staffy so not a small dog shows how deep the snow is 😭

We are in south east wales and went out this morning sledging and it was little bits of snow that stung as they hit your face (possibly freezing rain?) now though it’s properly snowing big chunky flakes (as opposed to tiny snow globe type snow it has been the past few days)

Morning from near Maidstone. We're on top,of the hill and DDog and I had a walk in freezing rain this morning so I now fully understand what it is. My coat froze almost solid and is defrosting in the shower. My window and my dog.

I'm not a dog person year. But he/she is absolutely gorgeous looking
