Usual disclaimer - Gloria and I are amateurs, fitting this in round our home and work lives. We do our best, we sometimes get things wrong! Please don't make important decisions based on what we say, always refer to the met office website first.

Thanks for freezing rain info, I don’t think I’ve ever experienced it before but it sounds terrifying, especially for motorists.

MorvahRising · 01/03/2018 14:13

Light snow here now.

Oh dear, I was so excited I posted twice.

DartmoorDoughnut · 01/03/2018 14:17

Chucking it down here now, eldest getting v excited - not as excited as me though Grin

ineedaholidaynow · 01/03/2018 14:18

Definitely picking up in Devon now

boxcar · 01/03/2018 14:21

I'm in South Wales. So far it's powdery. Will the main event be powdery too or will it be wetter? The anticipation's like Christmas Eve!

littlequestion · 01/03/2018 14:22

Greetings from Brighton. Most of the schools are closed in anticipation of the big storm and...nada. I think there were about seven snowflakes this morning. Conflicting forecasts - heavy snow showing imminently all day on one website but missing us on others.

Wingbing · 01/03/2018 14:23

This is looking up Haldon & Telegraph Hill. There are snow Ploughs & gritters going round & round. Still a few cars on the road

They are due to shut telegraph hill I think.

HormonalAF · 01/03/2018 14:24

Brighton here too. Told to expect heavy snow from 1pm and NOTHING :(

whyhastherumgone · 01/03/2018 14:24

@snownechanger wow that's some serious snow. Hope you were wrapped up for your walk!

Meteoradar isn't working for me, keeps crashing - anyone know whether Chelmsford/Billericay way in Essex is due anymore? DH trying to make a decision as to whether to leave work in London early.

drinkswineoutofamug · 01/03/2018 14:25

Trees are down here so people please be careful driving around Cheshire east, very windy . The wind has blown the snow off the footpaths and it's sheet ice

GloriaSmud · 01/03/2018 14:26

Dawlish webcam and snow is falling.

NoStraightEdges · 01/03/2018 14:31

Thanks OYBBK so the snow shovel and bag of rock salted wasn't a bad purchase then!

OlympicBonfire · 01/03/2018 14:32

Still snowing heavily in S Dorset- for about 3 and a half hours now. Temp still around minus 2 so nit looking forward to tomorrow. Did manage to get up to yard to muck out this morning despite the snow and roads not too bad - doubt it will be the same Friday

llmb · 01/03/2018 14:35

Anyone in Sussex/Kent border? We’ve been forecast heavy snow all day..... it snowed briefly about 7am but that’s it. Bbc showing heavy snow now but nothing... met office show nothing but they haven’t been that reliable for us here. I don’t know who to trust!

summersgoneaway · 01/03/2018 14:36

Really coming down here
We have been out on the sledges
Girls are loving it

fortyfourfeasts · 01/03/2018 14:39

Hasn't stopped snowing all day in Nottingham. Getting very windy now. And thankfully snow days all round tomorrow too.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 01/03/2018 14:39

I think that telegraph/haldon Hill junction is where the accident was earlier, wingbing. Snow picking up in this part of Devon too. Wind starting to pick up a bit.

BestIsWest · 01/03/2018 14:40

Swansea here. Just a few flakes but winds are bad. Just went out to get dog food and a heavy metal sign blew across the car park towards me.

Schools are shut and both me and DH have been sent home from work as our offices have closed.

Wingbing · 01/03/2018 14:43

I saw a few cars sliding around fafal. I live in Splatford and it gets mentioned a lot due to collisions. Nasty junctions.

chrispenrallt1 · 01/03/2018 14:43

Goodwick in Pembrokeshire here, not a flake to be seen but very cold and windy. Will we see any snow ?

Fontella · 01/03/2018 14:45

Still absolutely no snow here despite forecasts of light snow from 7am and then heavy snow from noon until 8pm with a yellow warning. It's now nearly 3pm and nothing. It's grey and miserable but not particularly cold and everyone seems to be going about their business as normal.

Was also very suprised to get a delivery today on time. Ordered goods two days ago from South Yorkshire - I'm on the south coast. Even the carriers own website said they would be two days late, but it arrived on time. Driver said he'd had no problems, apart from a flat tyre!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 01/03/2018 14:46

I don’t come in that way but lots of people I work with do. Don’t imagine any of them will be in tomorrow.
