Was supposed to pick up dgd today to have her for a couple of days. Don't know if I can get car out now!

whatalifethisis · 27/02/2018 03:50

Well my snow dance worked and I don't think we will be going anywhere for a while . Just let one of my dogs out and he came in with snow balls stuck to his fur and it is coming down relentlessly. In Kent,

MayhemandMadness01 · 27/02/2018 04:53

SnowiestMountain · 27/02/2018 05:12

Just started here in Cheshire but coming down fast!!

MirandaWest · 27/02/2018 05:22

York had flurries yesterday which didn’t amount to anything. As we’re moving house today I’d prefer it to stay that way!

mogloveseggs · 27/02/2018 05:30

Snow in east Lancashire! Tbh hoping no more as I’m in work wed, thurs, fri and have to go in no matter what! I don’t fancy a 2 hour walk at 5am

Snownechanger · 27/02/2018 05:39

Quick name change for this, but have just woken up to this on CCTV

So happy! NEssex

O.5 cm here in Swansea. Strange stuff though.

drinkswineoutofamug · 27/02/2018 05:55

Morning! We have snow, a lot of it, Cheshire. Odd because the soon to be delete bbc weather app a) says I live in warren? B) says it's cloudy.
View out of my window agrees with every other app I have

youarenotkiddingme · 27/02/2018 06:20

I'm in South Hampshire.

Getting various differing reports for today. One of which says snow forecast all day.

Which one do you think I should listen to?

BishopBrennansArse · 27/02/2018 06:29

Yaaaaaay!!!!!!

cerro

Nothing here in Halstead, North Essex.

notsomanky · 27/02/2018 06:30

woke up to a cm of snow lying and it's still falling steadily [ grin]

LunarGirl · 27/02/2018 06:32

Delurking as I have checked 4 different weather reports and none of them agree. Does anyone know what the most accurate is? I usually go by the met office and they, generally, have been reliable. But yesterday it said we wouldn't get snow until the middle of the night but we had it on and off all day and none overnight. We're very close to Sutton. Anyone know if we can expect any snow? It's very cold!

Cerrocoandblack · 27/02/2018 06:38

TopBitch, nooooo amazing how it differs with that little distance! Gutted for you

GloriaSmud · 27/02/2018 06:39

Yay, Bishop

We have a slight covering here (Leicester) as well, due to a sudden snowfall for an hour last night. Bloomin' cold though -2.4 at the moment.

youarenotkiddingme ~ normally I go for the metoffice but I think the way showers are going to move in today, I'd do a spot of 'nowcasting' as well. I think it's a case of once showers get 'set up', they come along in streams so one follows another.

The Guardian have a useful live updates thing going on here.

Jenasaurus · 27/02/2018 06:41

crawley had some overnight white stuff, but not enough to cause disruption, work as normal then :)

Caroian · 27/02/2018 06:41

We're in Kent and have the promised 10cm (as measured by my son on top of the garden wall!) Usually do my weekly shop on a Tuesday but to husband's amusement I went on Sunday. Am now feeling rather smug! Just waiting on school closures list.

GloriaSmud · 27/02/2018 06:43

Latest Outlook from the metoffice ~ looks like they're especting the cold to last right through March for most of the country...

Wednesday:
Further scattered snow showers.are expected, interspersed with sunny spells. It will still feel bitterly cold, with the increasing easterly wind leading to a significant wind chill. Maximum temperature 1 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Exceptionally cold with severe night frosts. Mostly dry but windy Thursday before more widespread snow arrives overnight. Remaining cold Friday and Saturday with further showers or longer spells of snow.

UK Outlook for Saturday 3 Mar 2018 to Monday 12 Mar 2018:
During the weekend, snow across the UK should slowly peter out from the south, but snow showers remaining in the far north. Across central and southern areas, widespread mist and fog may be slow to clear. Some rain or snow may affect the far south at times, but there is currently a lot of uncertainty at this stage. It will stay cold or very cold across the UK, with brisk winds across the north. During the following week, it is likely to stay cold in the north, but temperatures could become closer to normal in the south. It is looking increasingly likely to be unsettled through the week, with areas of rain and strong winds moving north across the country, perhaps turning to snow across central and northern parts.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 13 Mar 2018 to Tuesday 27 Mar 2018:
A blocked pattern remains most likely across much of the UK, with colder than average conditions, but possibly milder at times in the south and southwest. Further bitterly cold easterly winds are probable, giving a significant wind chill. There will continue to be a risk of snow across some central and northern areas, but in the far north and northwest it should be drier. Frosts will continue to be widespread and severe in places. As we head towards the middle of March it may turn more unsettled and less cold with milder and wetter weather spreading up from the south or southwest. This may lead to further significant snow in places although this remains very uncertain. Northern areas may hang on to the colder weather well into March.

MirandaWest · 27/02/2018 06:43

I looked out of the window. There has been some snow but hopefully not enough to trouble moving plans.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 27/02/2018 06:44

None on Surrey/Sussex border - gutted! Means I'm going to be stressing all day about potentially getting stuck at work.

Fluffiest · 27/02/2018 06:45

Lots of snow in East Lancashire! There is enough to make a snowman, but hopefully not too much to stop me doing a much needed food shop today...

FreshTart · 27/02/2018 06:46

Been snowing on Cambrian coast for over an hour now, sticking nicely.

ReinettePompadour · 27/02/2018 06:46

Its snowed overnight but hardly any really. Considering I was firmly in the amber warning then swapped for yellow late yesterday I sort of hope we would still get a decent amount. Sad
