Just driven to school. Gritters are out. Don't think I've ever seen them gritting so early in the day. We live in town but school is rural and it has clearly snowed much more here than at home. Lots of cars coming the other way with snow on them too.

kinorsam · 26/02/2018 15:01

Bedfordshire update - it's stopped snowing now and the sun has come out.

Frouby · 26/02/2018 15:02

Had the odd flurry here in south yorkshire on and off all morning. Seems bright and calm but cold at the minute. Very much calm before the storm I think.

GoldInTheAirOfSummer · 26/02/2018 15:03

Only a little light snow forecast in South Manchester. Bloody snow shield in action again...

Jenasaurus · 26/02/2018 15:15

Just popped out for a walk and its actually sunny here in Crawley now, sky is blue and no sign of snow so maybe we will miss out :)

CrochetBelle · 26/02/2018 15:19

Bloody cold here in east coast Scotland ('real feel' -3)

Snow due to start around 3am. I have two meetings tomorrow (afternoon and evening), then one on Wednesday morning 20 miles away - won't bother if the weather is bad lol. After writing off my car on black ice as a newish driver a few years back I'm not the best in ice/snow.

Change in the amber warning area on met office, hope someone can do a link. Trying to figure out the difference between amber and yellow..

YearOfYouRemember · 26/02/2018 15:22

My app said snow from now until tomorrow morning. It now says cloudy until 6 am then 80% chance of snow until 11am where it drops to 30% Confused.

magimedi · 26/02/2018 15:26

Met Office Weather Warning link

Hoochy The warnings are graded (from lowest risk to highest) Yellow, Amber, Red.

(It took me some ferreting around the site to find that, yesterday!).

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 26/02/2018 15:27

Cunk we had snow this morning but the sun burnt it off. Can confirm light Snow is currently falling outside chez Reastie.

MadisonAvenue · 26/02/2018 15:30

It's just been blizzard-like here in South Staffs. Back to sunshine again now.

ShowOfHands · 26/02/2018 15:49

wet? how?

How is it wet? Or how wet is it? Because it snows but doesn't settle so we just have puddles. Big ones. It's just wet.

MynameisJune · 26/02/2018 15:53

Slightly gutted we’ve been moved out of the amber warning for tomorrow. I wanted all the snow or none at all (yes I am acting like a child, but I want snow!)

Ollivander84 · 26/02/2018 16:02

Lancashire - few drifting tiny flakes (very odd looking). Bit chilly (I put a coat on)
Nothing else to report!

Jenasaurus · 26/02/2018 16:05

I have often heard it will snow and then it doesnt so I am not expecting anything to be honest :)

Jenasaurus · 26/02/2018 16:08

looking outside now, brilliant sunshine and clear blue sky

Mumsnut · 26/02/2018 16:11

Surrey is Very Disappointing

ShipShop · 26/02/2018 16:14

I agree it's very wet here in Herts now after a big flurry but nothing settled on the roads/patios except a little on the grass. Blue skies now!

ReinettePompadour · 26/02/2018 16:15

Just checked and the met office update has moved the amber warning outside my area now. Im gutted. I was firmly in the amber 2 hours ago. No snow for me Friday now either and I've still got 14 cans of sodding soup to eat

ShowOfHands · 26/02/2018 16:20

It never snows here anymore. We used to have snow days as children. My DC have never built a snowman or had a snowball fight. I need to stop getting my hopes up. Every year the met office threatens and it never happens.

GloriaSmud · 26/02/2018 16:45

It looks like after all the uncertainty, there's a snow warning for Friday now.

MooseyMoo · 26/02/2018 16:46

Update from West Oxfordshire: Couple of flurries around 3ish and now another one. Looks like small polystyrene balls!

BestIsWest · 26/02/2018 16:50

Just marking place. Still sunny in Wales but wasn’t expecting anything today.

YearOfYouRemember · 26/02/2018 16:53

MooseyMoo - that's the type we had this morning.

Howyoualldoworkme · 26/02/2018 16:57

My mother has been on the phone from just outside Witney and she says it's snowing and laying.
Three flakes here in South Hampshire and it's sunny and freezing.
