We actually had snow in Hampshire! Ok it was only for 30 minutes bursts and the few flakes that laid weren't enough to make a snowman. But we are 10 minutes from sea donuts an achievement for us Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 27/02/2018 16:50

We're amber tomorrow and Thursday as well (East Lothian).

At the moment we're mostly having hail. Or what looks like hail anyway.

Perihelion · 27/02/2018 16:52

Possible Red warning for Eastern Scotland? OYBBK

Could be as we're due a dump around rush hour......and I've just got a text from the school warning of amber weather warnings and to check Twitter and the local radio in the morning.....Grin
Red warnings are great because it makes decisions about travel really easy.... don't.

kooshbin · 27/02/2018 16:54

Proper snow in mid-Hampshire now, after some vague attempts earlier.

Any suggestions for working rainfall radar I can access? Met Office have suspended theirs, and raintoday keeps giving me an "oops" message.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/02/2018 16:58

I use the weather pro paid for app which gives me a bit of a forecast of projected radar as well as a snap shot. It's not perfect, but it does ok for me.

I guess that's a close as we will get Bishop. At least it's not due to untoward volcanic activity Grin

still nothing in Crawley, I would take a photo but I havent got my phone, its just normal outside :( Not sure what I was hoping for, but I have to walk home so maybe its just as well as I would probably fall over :)

JillJ72 · 27/02/2018 17:02

-3 on our shed at 4pm brrrr. We had some bigger snow showers push through between 1.30pm and 2.30pm which left around 1-2cm. The chickens couldn't wait to get out for a run around, nibbling at the blades of grass poking through and eating the snow. They even came and cleaned my boots for me!

youarenotkiddingme · 27/02/2018 17:05

Koosh where are you? Could you send it down the M3 please? 😂😂

Perihelion · 27/02/2018 17:09

Humza Youssef, the Scottish Transport Minister is suggesting that there'll be a red warning.

Perihelion · 27/02/2018 17:13

Daylight temp finally dropped to 0C and just caught DD trying to flood the back garden with the hose to create an ice rink. Am liking her ingenuity.

kooshbin · 27/02/2018 17:15

youarenotkiddingme - I'm in Winchester. I'd happily send it to you, but it's stopped now. Ended up with only a slight covering.

CointreauVersial · 27/02/2018 17:16

I'm another one bemused by the fast-disappearing snow. It snowed on and off all day yesterday in Surrey - big fluffy flakes - and again for a good while around lunchtime, but it's all vanished; there's barely a dusting left. And yet it's freezing cold!

Springiscoming123 · 27/02/2018 17:20

4 miles from south coast Dorset getting a pretty good covering for us -1 now

itsazoohere · 27/02/2018 17:29

A lot of schools are shut in Lewes tomorrow -but no snow forecast at all?

icantdothis2017 · 27/02/2018 17:38

Can someone one explain why worthing has a yellow warning and no snow forecast !?

Rhodiolia · 27/02/2018 17:40

I'm in the area that may be upgraded to the red warning Shock I am coastal though, and we dont usually get much snow.

RatOnnaStick · 27/02/2018 17:46

We've been watching a weather front come in across the channel and now it's snowing again. It was wierd watching the last of the sunlight tinting the snow cloud pink.

Jenasaurus · 27/02/2018 17:54

Sky looks amazing, clear blue with the moon like a brilliant light in the middle, and not a snow flake in sight. I am walking 4 miles to work tomorrow though as despite no snow the roads have had more accidents today, even our car park had 4 incidents due to lack of gritting. I keep hearing ambulance sirens, so the roads are icy despite no snow in this part of West Sussex. Does anyone know if its likely to be the same tomorrow?

GloriaSmud · 27/02/2018 17:56

-1.8C already here (Leicester) 'Tis going to be a cold night.

icantdothis ~ I think it's because at the moment, showers can pop up anywhere and where you get one, you can get a stream of them, one after another.

The other thing (although I don't think it's a 100% certainty yet), is that there is a weather system coming up from the south Thursday pm/Friday and where the rain hits the cold, it could fall as snow. Forecasters are saying things are going to get worse so even though you might not be forecast snow at the moment, it's highly likely that those who haven't had it so far, will get some before the weekend if confidence grows nearer to then.

SaltySeaBird · 27/02/2018 17:58

I’m disappointed as I want some snow and my children want snow (well the oldest aged 5 does). In Brighton there was a dusting but it had gone by midday.

I want proper thick snow Friday please as I have the day off!

BishopBrennansArse · 27/02/2018 17:59

Ooo.
Big blob destined to hit Sevenoaks and if it continues on the same trajectory it'll hit us!

YassQueen · 27/02/2018 17:59

I'm in South Wales and just seen the amber warning for Thursday/Friday... I'm working nights on Thursday Hmm if it hits as hard as it's supposed to, I'm not sure I'll get home from work Shock

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/02/2018 18:10

-4c here already!

Be back in about an hour to answer any questions.

Bad snow mid day north Kent but now mostly gone apart from the drive! Not sure what's due our way now!
