@icantdothis that’s my fear too. I hate this weather I obsessively check weather apps and sites to see what’s going to happen.

Luckily here in Derbyshire we just had a dusting overnight and apart from residential side streets the roads are clear.

I’m so relieved as I’ve got a fair bit of driving to do today.

notsomanky · 27/02/2018 08:54

Snow now stopped and beautiful blue skies here in Manchester/Tameside

howyalikedemapples · 27/02/2018 08:56

Scottish Borders here, and the worst isn’t forecast until tomorrow! 😣

Despite being in the amber warning area we've had exactly 0 flakes of snow overnight. Had plenty on and off yesterday. School open.

Waxlyrically · 27/02/2018 09:07

NW Leicestershire here & light snow showers with a dusting. Roads currently fine if anyone coming this way. I’m hovering as I’m supposed to be driving to Shropshire / N Wales border & think things might be snowier there. Anyone in that area that can report?

MrPan · 27/02/2018 09:07

manky - the M.E.N. reports that A LOT of snow is due 3am to 11am tomorrow morning, in the eastern edge of G/t M/c. That's us isn't it? But the BBC app forecast is nothing as dire.

BastardGoDarkly · 27/02/2018 09:10

South Norfolk. Schools shut. Kids delighted Grin

a light dusting again here (south Shropshire hills) but very very cold. -4.5 up here and didn't get above zero at all yesterday. We are under the weather warnings every day from here to Saturday now apart from Wednesday. I Soooo wish it was going to be good snowman snow but pretty sure it will all be powder. Boo, hiss

Sushiqueen · 27/02/2018 09:19

South Lincs. Still snowing here and more forecast. Dd got to school but her after school activity has already been cancelled and we will have to see if the school buses can pick them up ok.
Getting fed up of clearing the drive - we are on a slope so will need to clear it for DH later.
On the plus side the dog is loving rolling around in it!!

FloatyFlo · 27/02/2018 09:20

West suffolk here. Really hoping for a decent amount of snow. A few flurries yesterday. A few sparse flakes this morning. Gutted. Is there a decent amount coming our way??

LesLavandes · 27/02/2018 09:23

East Sussex. 15 miles north of Hastings. It's dumping it down

rainbowruthie · 27/02/2018 09:25

Kent - lots and lots of the white stuff here - most schools closed!

Eve · 27/02/2018 09:29

Hampshire - Portsmouth - nothing - not even a flake!

icantdothis2017 · 27/02/2018 09:35

Worthing west Sussex .
Snowing quite heavily now

Papergirl1968 · 27/02/2018 09:37

Very light covering here in the West Mids and -2...
Schools seem to be open.

PrimalLass · 27/02/2018 09:42

South Fife. Sunny and no snow on the ground. It snowed for 2 minutes.

Mumsnut · 27/02/2018 09:43

Envy of those of you with proper snow ...

MynameisJune · 27/02/2018 09:43

Heavy snow here in north lincs now but already petering out again 🙄

Trottersindependenttraders · 27/02/2018 09:45

Warrington / Trafford border checking in with quite a covering of snow overnight but clearer skies now. School open, roads okay. I made it home from London without incident yesterday, thanks to OYBBK, you were correct with your forecasts and reassurance. I did have a wobble when I saw the Evening Standard with it's "Get Home by 6!" screaming headline.

Howyoualldoworkme · 27/02/2018 09:45

Waves to Eve nothing over Portsdown Hill but I heard a rumour of a few flakes in Clanfield!
My little sister was born the end of February 1970 and we were snowed in for a week in Horndean.

My grandchildren in Pembrokeshire are on snow watch and are very disappointed at the moment.

pumpersnatch · 27/02/2018 09:46

Soooo let's be honest. London isn't getting any is it SadSad

GloriaSmud · 27/02/2018 09:48

Leicester signing in. We had a gentle snow shower for about 40 minutes during the school run but all stopped and there's bright sunshine now. There are dark clouds looming though and the forecast is for heavy snow showers around 11am.

There are plenty of snow showers showing up here.

ConorMcGregorsChin · 27/02/2018 09:54

North East coast of England here. About 4 inches so far (took 30 mins to clear the car and I'm knackered!) with the heaviest due to fall Wednesday and Thursday. Schools don't tend to close here because of Snow, but I'm hopeful...

Delurking in a disappointed way from n. London/Herts area.

You can almost guarantee that if the Newspapers start talking about extreme weather it won't happen except for in very exposed/hilly/northern type areas. Weather warnings are complete bollocks not a drop here just cold and sunny.

justforthisthread101 · 27/02/2018 10:04

Very grateful for no snow in South-East London as really don't have the time for a rubbish commute today. SouthEastern kept trains running all night so no delays apart from the usual this morning.

Yesterday's forecast appeared to be fiction so I'm paying little attention but am I right from reading this thread that the vibe is a bit tomorrow and lots on Thursday?
