Northern East Sussex has about 10cm of snow. Schools are closed.

An extremely light dusting here overnight (London). Hate this....starting day as usual, and then the possibility of getting stranded somewhere Confused

ClosDesMouches · 27/02/2018 07:47

I have a meeting in Reddish tomorrow Sparkly. I think I'll go in on the train rather than drive. if the trains are running.

ClosDesMouches · 27/02/2018 07:49

That's proper snow, MachineBee. I haven't seen snow like that here for years and years. Very pretty. I hate snow when it's just a thin layer that freezes and makes pavements and side roads treacherous for days. But proper snow like yours is good.

Unescorted · 27/02/2018 07:53

close the little pacer trains may smell, be cold, leak and overcrowded but it takes a lot more snow than we have at the moment to stop them. They are still running on time over the Pennines.... They stop at Reddish North on their way to Sheffield.

SparklyMagpie · 27/02/2018 07:54

I don't drive but I think I'd get the train too if they'll be running!

SparklyMagpie · 27/02/2018 07:54

MachineBee so so jealous!!!

Perihelion · 27/02/2018 07:56

Tiny sprinkle of snow in Edinburgh overnight, which has melted as it's back to 1C and the sun's out.......

PearlyG8 · 27/02/2018 07:57

Thank you so much OYBBK I really appreciate your advice.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 27/02/2018 07:57

just under an inch of snow overnight here in east Surrey, DH is driving back from the midlands later, so I hope any roads disruption is cleared before then.

Sparkletastic · 27/02/2018 07:58

Lots of snow here on the East Sussex / West Sussex border and still coming down steadily.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 27/02/2018 07:58

and amazingly, Southern Rail seems to be running fairly smoothly Shock. Our trains stop with weather of any kind Wink

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/02/2018 07:59

snow is ok for trains as long as they can keep them going to keep the lines clear.

You are welcome Pearly :)

Still nothing in Oxfordshire. 😭

Sostenueto · 27/02/2018 08:02

They shut down train station here before a snowflake fell!

TheSacredCow · 27/02/2018 08:02

DH and I supposed to be driving from Oxford to Snowdonia on Thursday for romantic birthday break? Driving. Should we cancel? Sleeping in a freezing car may not be as romantic as I had planned. Area is in yellow warning would it be passable?

whatalifethisis · 27/02/2018 08:03

Partner has just measured the snow and says it's 6 inches.....not sure he knows what six inches is though Wink

Smallest dog not impressed as he's about the size of a gerbil and can't walk in it as it comes so far up his legs.

It is still absolutely hammering down.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/02/2018 08:06

It's too early to cancel TheScaredCow. Keep an eye on the forecast over the next day or so, it will keep changing still, small changes affect snow amounts a lot.
