Very light covering here in South Staffs, I'm currently out in the woods with the dog.
Supposed to be having work done to extend our drive today but can't see it happening now.

Tomorrow seems to spare the south from the Thames estuary through to southern Wales.

Thursday - Snow for the south (about bloody time for me!) and around the east coast and through the scottish borders I think

Friday - A heavy pulse moves in from the south in the afternoon. Watch Friday rush hour!! Some freezing rain perhaps mixed into this but hopefully looking less likely.

Saturday - the band of snow moves through the rest of the UK, gently fizzling out I think while on the back edge is rain.

Timtims at the moment the models seem fairly consistent with bringing snow into your area.

Snowing here, south Cheshire.
It's light snow, currently just a sprinkling on the ground. In other words just enough to be a dangerous complete pain in the arse after it freezes tonight..

I hate the stuff. To those of you who love it, enjoy it!

WreckTangled · 27/02/2018 07:17

No snow here. Humph. (Also Surrey/Sussex border)

Frouby · 27/02/2018 07:17

Snow here in Rotherham/Barnsley. About 1 cm so far but snowing steadily and as my mum used to say 'the skys full of it'.

Also got a poorly Ds who has been up all night with a temperature. No other symptoms yet so hoping it just viral and will run it's course. Our doctors surgery is at the bottom of a very very steep hill.

ClosDesMouches · 27/02/2018 07:19

Oh I've just heard that there are going to be very strong winds here tomorrow. Bloody great!

TopBitchoftheWitches · 27/02/2018 07:20

And....it's stop snowing now Hmm

PearlyG8 · 27/02/2018 07:20

OYBBK please take pity and give me some guidance! I'm planning to drive from Brighton to Falmouth tomorrow and I can't work out if it is insane or potentially quite reasonable.

MynameisJune · 27/02/2018 07:23

As predicted, snow has already stopped here.

ClosDesMouches · 27/02/2018 07:27

drinkswine do you mind saying approx where in Cheshire you are? I'm rural not far from Congleton and need to drive to Northwich, Nantwich and Malpas today. It sounds as if you have more snow than I do, if you're anywhere near of any those places can you give me an update if possible? I'll cancel the meetings if it looks too dodgy.

GoldInTheAirOfSummer · 27/02/2018 07:28

The snow shield has been breached! South Manchester has snow and it is still coming down. The children are beside themselves!

cloudberry · 27/02/2018 07:31

South Herefordshire, hard frost, no snow, looks like it will be lovely day but Met Office have us in yellow warning and snow at 12 and 2. Who know? Generally snow tends to skirt us and land on Black Mountains tho’ we did get it in December much to dcs’ delight. We’ve got great sledging hills Smile

Oreocrumbs · 27/02/2018 07:32

Fair covering here this morning (co. Durham near the coast), seems to be wet snow though, I'm basing that on the cat's paw prints when I let him out I haven't been outside yet!

I've decided not to work after today this week (would be traveling rurally and over bad ground) so I hope we do get the predicted large dump because if it doesn't come and it's reasonable for me to work I shall be very disappointed to miss out on my 'snow days'.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/02/2018 07:34

Pearly you are going to need to keep an eye on road conditions. It's both ends of your journey that could be problematic, lying snow at your end, potentially lots of snow at Falmouth end, though it could just turn to rain briefly.

Please note looks like we need to edit tomorrow's forecast about not snowing in the south!! There seems to be a conflict between models about whether a pulse of snow will stay in the channel or not.

-7c for my location an hour ago. That's quite cold! Tonight some places will be even colder.

ClosDesMouches I'm waiting to hear from my stepmum who lives in Winsford so round the corner from northwich so I can let you know :)

icantdothis2017 · 27/02/2018 07:37

How's west Sussex looking for tomorrow ?

JillJ72 · 27/02/2018 07:38

-5°C on the shed again at 0700h. Some cloud and lots of blue sky too. My chickens are fine - a bit later I'll let them try out the very light dusting from yesterday. They'll probably eat it! North Bucks.

Fosterdog123 · 27/02/2018 07:39

I'm in cheshire. Woke up to thick snow and it's just started snowing again!

ClosDesMouches · 27/02/2018 07:40

Thanks Sparkly that would be very helpful. I have a friend who lives east of Macc and it's bad there currently but it often is!

DeathMetalMum · 27/02/2018 07:42

Chester we have a covering of a couple of cm still falling quite fast. Just digging out my wellies for the school run. Glad I'm not working today but by the looks of things roads will be horrible by the time I have to go to work tomorrow.

sluj · 27/02/2018 07:43

What gone wrong? Hardly anything in Hertfordshire? 🙄

PestoSurfissimos · 27/02/2018 07:43

Blizzarding up here Grin

SparklyMagpie · 27/02/2018 07:43

ClosDesMouches no problem

I'm near Stockport and it's getting quite thick
