Christmas weather guess thread!

Christmas eve is in the GFS model range woo hoo!!!
I’m an amateur, don’t rely on my forecasts etc etc, at this range it is entirely a guess, the models will change.....

I only have time for an instantaneous forecast at the moment -
GFS says: cold and settled.

back later for a better forecast.

oh, Weds into Thursday would be perfect for me. I would love a snow day off work on Thursday!!! I reckon we're owed since we were cheated out of our snow at the last minute last time. I've still got 2 new sledges to use!!

Although it still looks to be getting colder, GFS latest run ahead backed away from snow away from parts of Scotland and north Wales.

Wet and windy is my prediction, will be interesting to see if it is snow - given I am now in Scotland (Aberdeenshire) I do expect snow this time of year.

Wind has been increasing in Edinburgh.....and just looked at Xmas day forecast which has snow.....which would be fab to have as long as we're home from the in-laws Grin ( don't have my old 4x4 anymore, and now have an automatic which I've never driven in snow )

Thank you OYBBK and Gloria for all your weather blether and nice to see Nanny in Aberdeenshire......

Arrived safely on the banks of the Clyde. Drove through drizzle, dense fog, glorious sunshine and then fog again to get here. Please let it be safe to drive home on Tuesday as I am not sure my sanity will hold out pinger than that.

Still keeping an eye on Tuesday into Wednesday. At the moment, it looks like most will get rain over Tuesday night (away from the NW and northern Wales) However, front goes through, the temperature will drop and I expect some will see snow on the back edge of it.

Could be quite wild as is it goes through I think.

Wednesday night into Thursday morning could be pretty icy for many. Something to watch out for when travelling.

GFS still going for snow, Tuesday night/Wednesday for a lot of England here but away from hilly areas, think it's going to be too mild and we'll just get yucky and un-festive sleety stuff/rain Xmas Sad

Merry Christmas to oybbk and Gloria from the driech Costa del Clyde. Thank you for all your hard work!

Mild and damp here. Normal Christmas weather judging by the last few years

You could in luck there, hoochy, especially if you're high up in Derbyshire. Your Ds and PILs though might want to evaluate the conditions before setting off anywhere, especially Wednesday morning. Once the snow clears, it's going to be cold for a few days afterwards so any snow that does fall, probably won't be in too much of a hurry to go and ice could be a problem afterwards.

Merry Christmas Manky! Hooch, there's a reasonable chance.

A snowflake symbol down here in the south for me on Wednesday. Hooray! I'm not entirely convinced though.

We have weather warnings issued!
I had wondered whether one would be issued for Tuesday-Wednesday for us but thought it might be over-doing things but obviously the metoffice think the it might cause some disruption.

Those warning areas look very similar to the snow maps you've been posting Gloria.
