Christmas weather guess thread!

Christmas eve is in the GFS model range woo hoo!!!
I’m an amateur, don’t rely on my forecasts etc etc, at this range it is entirely a guess, the models will change.....

I only have time for an instantaneous forecast at the moment -
GFS says: cold and settled.

back later for a better forecast.

one of those days where ever I went computer systems broke down, or people couldn't do stuff for various reasons, including my own internet. It made everything slower than expected.

It looks pretty wintry for much of Scotland over next week.

Yes Scotland could do well out of snow next week. Interestingly the snow for Thursday is back on in the latest run...

I hope you don't feel too alone!! I've been watching this thread avidly since it started!! I've become a bit obsessed about the weather as I'm driving 300 miles for Christmas with an infant and your thread is waaaaaaay better than the met office!!!

We all appreciate it @OhYouBadBadKitten and @GloriaSmud. Always watch your weather threads, and especially over the last few days, as we're off to the Cairngorms for a few days between Christmas and new year. The white stuff is a bit thin on the ground according to the webcam, so we're praying for a good dump of snow.

I watch these threads very closely and really appreciate them, thank you BadKitten and Gloria . You get my riveted attention when you say things like "the atlantic rises up and washes over the whole of the uk " given my preoccupation with a very proximate river and its annexation tendencies!

weather warnings for Christmas Eve and Christmas day for some parts of Scotland. For lots of water

It does still look as though we will cool down from Boxing Day with increasing chances for snow in the north and milder (but not mild probably) in the south.

Hi all

does anyone know, are we looking at grey murk in London for the next few days? They promised us sun yesterday - nothing. Today - same. it's pretty horrendous but I can't see any break in the dark cloud being realistic. Accuweather says there will be, but yesterday was just thick dark grey.

No snow on the M74/M6 on Tuesday til the early afternoon - then it can snow as much as it likes.
