Early early days and the models have been teasing us for a good couple of weeks now but we might be starting to get some model consistency. I've been holding off from saying anything in case we scare it away for good.

Massive caveat - amateur forecaster, often get it wrong yadda yadda. Please dont plan anything based on this thread.

GFS starts to show the european high pressure drift atlantic-wards next week, drawing in cold air. By next weekend we are showing a reasonable amount of potential with the upper air looking cold enough to support snow and less settled weather than at present.

Alas though, it only seems to last the weekend at present. But at the moment Friday is the day to keep your eye on.

Cineraria, I've just been speaking to DSis who lives in Sydenham and she said her garden is covered but the roads are still a bit slushy.

VilootShesCute · 12/01/2017 18:06

My husband just called me from Gatwick and it's really snowing there apparently. Not down here though it's bloody torrential rain.

Florin · 12/01/2017 18:07

We finally now have it in mid Kent

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 12/01/2017 18:09

Dame I'm in rainham

maggienolia · 12/01/2017 18:09

Still sleet in South Cambridgeshire. No real snow yet.

CointreauVersial · 12/01/2017 18:09

Traffic atrocious round here - very glad they closed our office at 4pm! DH is stuck somewhere near Epsom.

HelenDenver · 12/01/2017 18:10

Placemarking

FoodSchmood · 12/01/2017 18:10

Snowing hard here in Hove! Settling on cars but not the ground (so far)...Really amazing, big chunks of proper snow though. The kids are going wild! Bad sideways pic of our view...

Snow watch.
JillJ72 · 12/01/2017 18:12

Stopped here, skies will prob clear in next couple of hours and then oh tomorrow will be fun scraping the car and driving the icy roads. Enjoy the snow where you have it!

BertrandRussell · 12/01/2017 18:13

Smiling- apparently it's settling in Gillingham.........

notsomanky · 12/01/2017 18:14

Our Snow Shield is working wonderfully Angry

FoodSchmood · 12/01/2017 18:14

Actually, scratch that! Just looked out the back window and it's settling on the grass/sheds etc. Just not on the road or pavement out the front. So excited!

ChairRider4 · 12/01/2017 18:15

Sticking here by Stansted airport on paths, grass and cars

1happyhippie · 12/01/2017 18:15

We still don't have any! I'm in Cumbria, and apart from a few minutes of hailstones around 1pm, we haven't seen anything.

eurochick · 12/01/2017 18:16

I'm travelling home through south London. It was sleeting as I left central London. Parts of Victoria underground station were closed due to flooding. Now just north of Croydon and can see the snow is settling. It's settling at home, apparently (London/Surrey border). I'm not looking forward to my trudge up the hill, but at least I put on sensible footwear this morning, unlike many around me on the train!

zen1 · 12/01/2017 18:16

Southeast London (zone 4): snow settling well on roads, pavements and cars.

QueenieGoldstein · 12/01/2017 18:18

Upgrade to sleet in West Suffolk but still nothing you could call snow

BertrandRussell · 12/01/2017 18:19

Snow near Sittingbourne.....

RatOnnaStick · 12/01/2017 18:20

Wind is up and heavy rain above the Romney Marsh in Kent. No sleet yet though.

perhapstomorrow · 12/01/2017 18:21

We now have two inches here. Roads are chaos as it took me 40 mins to do a 5 min drive.

Skang · 12/01/2017 18:23

Snow in north Essex! It's settling but a bit slushy.

GingerHollyandIvy · 12/01/2017 18:28

Still snowing in north London.

PickAChew · 12/01/2017 18:33

Nothing in the offing for us until the early hours, apparently

Snow watch.
MooseyMoo · 12/01/2017 18:33

Nothing here (West Oxfordshire). Come on, my 5 year old has never seen snow

BiddyPop · 12/01/2017 18:35

A light sprinkle in Dublin 2, but none in Dun Laoghaire and none settling- but actual ❄️❄️❄️
