Snow watch.

Early early days and the models have been teasing us for a good couple of weeks now but we might be starting to get some model consistency. I've been holding off from saying anything in case we scare it away for good.

Massive caveat - amateur forecaster, often get it wrong yadda yadda. Please dont plan anything based on this thread.

GFS starts to show the european high pressure drift atlantic-wards next week, drawing in cold air. By next weekend we are showing a reasonable amount of potential with the upper air looking cold enough to support snow and less settled weather than at present.

Alas though, it only seems to last the weekend at present. But at the moment Friday is the day to keep your eye on.

Nothing here at all. Currently 0c down from 4c earlier. Clear starry sky. North East England.

Still heavy rain in East Sussex.

Leicester signing in - about an hour ago we had sleet, then a few snowflakes (and we got all excited), then it stopped. Meh!

South London snowing seems to be settling on grass not on pavements.

Snow started to fall just before 5 and has slowed a bit now. BBC weather was out by an hour for my area - should have stuck with their original timings.

Of course now I said it's still raining it's turned to snow!

The BBC has live updates here on the disruption caused by the weather. Houses on the east coast are being evacuated in case of flooding.

spot on original predictions 6pm and we have snow in mid-Kent and it's sticking fast.

It's snowing and has settled a bit in my part of SE London which should make the trip to Cubs interesting in a bit!
