Snow watch.

Early early days and the models have been teasing us for a good couple of weeks now but we might be starting to get some model consistency. I've been holding off from saying anything in case we scare it away for good.

Massive caveat - amateur forecaster, often get it wrong yadda yadda. Please dont plan anything based on this thread.

GFS starts to show the european high pressure drift atlantic-wards next week, drawing in cold air. By next weekend we are showing a reasonable amount of potential with the upper air looking cold enough to support snow and less settled weather than at present.

Alas though, it only seems to last the weekend at present. But at the moment Friday is the day to keep your eye on.

Sleet in North Herts - I await the fluffy and hopefully sticky stuff with baited breath!

West Berks has slowed a little. Started at 16:30ish so we all scarpered from the office.

Just starting in West Sussex, close to Hampshire border. Super slushy so far!

Is it snowing in Birmingham? I have a meeting in Birmingham tomorrow and am hoping that the trains can't make it due to snow!

Not keen anymore if we do get some. It causes too much disruption.

Snowing in the City of London!!

I'm really surprised how much it's sticking. It was so wet but everything's gone white very fast here

Im on the edge of Sheffield. We normally get cold before the rest of the city as we are pretty high up. Its very very cold and has been all day. Cold icy rain on playground duty this morning wasn't pleasant!

Looking at the BBC forecast it looks like we will miss most of the snow overnight - only one flake on there now. I have my fingers crossed - I don't like snow, its cold and makes my joints hurt! But I don't relish the thought of ice in the morning either.

West Sussex again. It's falling here heavily now and settling. We're very near the South Downs and they thought it might stick here.

Here's our back garden (Surrey). We are on a hill; five miles away it's not even snowing!
