Snow watch.

Early early days and the models have been teasing us for a good couple of weeks now but we might be starting to get some model consistency. I've been holding off from saying anything in case we scare it away for good.

Massive caveat - amateur forecaster, often get it wrong yadda yadda. Please dont plan anything based on this thread.

GFS starts to show the european high pressure drift atlantic-wards next week, drawing in cold air. By next weekend we are showing a reasonable amount of potential with the upper air looking cold enough to support snow and less settled weather than at present.

Alas though, it only seems to last the weekend at present. But at the moment Friday is the day to keep your eye on.

Between 7 and 8pm the BBC weather site for my area shows a 5° drop and winds picking up from 14mph to 50+mph for around two hours so is this going to come through quite violently?

Mid Hampshire now snowing and settling.

SE London here. Google says the temperature outside is 4 degrees. Definitely drizzle not snow at the moment.

Snow in central Hampshire. Probably started about 15 minutes ago - temperature seemed to drop noticeably then.

I'm in london it's just been raining all day wet and horrible. I doubt it will snow.

South London/Surrey border here. Pouring with rain and my car thermometer is saying 3 degrees. Come on temperature - drop!

South Derbyshire and doubt we'll see any of the white stuff. Freezing out though. The Wind is bitter.

I am going to be very disappointed if we don't get snow! South East here and still raining.

Norfolk here. Raining all afternoon, it's definitely chillier. Yet to see a snowflake though.

Well this little patch of Essex is certainly starting to look a little bit sleety now. I wish this rain would ease up a bit now though, the gutter is leaking and it's drowning the potted plants on the front

There was a good dump up in Consett, this morning, apparently, but just the merest dusting at school run time on our side of Durham.

The rain has stopped now & it's down to about 2. I think the forecast earlier said there'll be light snow passing over us in the early hours. Have to say I'm not looking forward to the school run tomorrow morning with the ice.

North Northants and still ruddy raining. Keep looking out the window like an excited child although I'm not really expecting any now. I need to take the dogs out though and I'd rather walk in snow than rain!!
