The UK won’t get totality but depending on where you are, 80-90% of the sun should be covered. More info here.
Let’s hope for clear skies!

Yes, getting gloomier here.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/03/2015 09:19

SE London reporting in. Thick cloud cover but it's much gloomier than you'd expect for the time of year and the type of cloud. Birds tweeting away like anything.

OstentatiousBreastfeeder · 20/03/2015 09:20

Complete cloud coverage in Sittingbourne, Kent Sad

It's gotten darker and colder though!

The cat just asked to come in. Don't think he's a fan.

RattieofCatan · 20/03/2015 09:20

Thick clouds in Brighton :( I live in the valley bit opposite the racecourse and have just been out for a look, can't see anything :( I can see loads of people standing on the hill next to the racecourse though all looking hopeful, but I doubt they'll see much besides darkness! :(

GloriaSmud · 20/03/2015 09:20

Eerie light here and cold (6.5C) ~ you can see your breath when you're outside. Birds have quietened down.

It's fantastic here in the north west. The dc both had a couple of looks through their specs on the way to school. DS shouted "it's like the moon" it had already moved lots in the 10 minutes we were walking. I just hope the school does something good. A bit of cloud cover but we looked every time the sun came out.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 20/03/2015 09:21

Can see bugger all in Dorset. Just a normal cloudy day. Sad

Opopanax · 20/03/2015 09:22

Thick cloud cover here (London), but the lights at the train station at the end of my garden have just come on - they must be controlled by how dark it is. It's quite a lot darker than usual and very cold.

LocalEditorEssex · 20/03/2015 09:23

Essex is shite, total cloud coverage.
Temp has dropped quite a lot very quickly though and birds starting to quiten down.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 20/03/2015 09:23

Definitely gloomy here (Suffolk) and feeling much colder. Its bizarre. Birds still chirping though.

Lottie4 · 20/03/2015 09:23

Just a bit hazy with sun still reflecting on fence here in Gloucestershire. Both cats are sat quietly in hall (unusual!). Last time we had an eclipse lots of birds came down on the rooftops here so I'll be picking on eye on that.

RingtheBells · 20/03/2015 09:23

Partial cloud in Northants, can still see sun through glasses, its darker though, hoping cloud shifts for the peak time.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 20/03/2015 09:24

thick cloud in East Surrey Sad. Birds seem to have stopped tweeting though

Littleham · 20/03/2015 09:24

Cloud, cloud and more cloud in the West Country. Sad

Littleham · 20/03/2015 09:25

Cloud, cloud and more cloud in the West Country.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 20/03/2015 09:25

Oo, street light just flickered on.

Raahh · 20/03/2015 09:27

Despite the cloud, the lighting is now very strange outside.

Donthate · 20/03/2015 09:27

Eerily quiet here. Freezing too. The sun looks like a thin sliver. Not dark yet though.

OwlCapone · 20/03/2015 09:28

Hmmmm.... It's there somewhere but where??

The birds seem to be quieting down though.

And it's really cold.

HSMMaCM · 20/03/2015 09:30

It's a bit darker here, but nothing dramatic.

Lottie4 · 20/03/2015 09:30

Quiet here in Gloucestershire as well. A large dark cloud has appeared over the sun, but yet the rest of the sky is just hazy with not a cloud insight.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 20/03/2015 09:31

Its freezing here now. Such a shame about the cloud.

ginmakesitallok · 20/03/2015 09:32

Wow here in Dundee! Not a cloud in the sky and I'm here with my colander! Very very odd
