the roof over my bay window's leaking.
Or something, there's wet patches in odd places.
Bugger!

Been quite windy here for an hour or so and some really heavy downpours. Hope everyone is keeping safe and dry.

South.

We have a leak in our conservatory, think the wind is sending the rain under the flashing. But we consider ourselves very lucky in view of others who have floods in their homes !

I know, I'm not really complaining,
Just a bit of a moan, really!

OYBBK how much longer do we have to put up with this?? (I can totally out myself here as I'm about NC away from my festive name before 12th night.) I live on the southern tip of the Isle of Man, we have been hit by more F10 & F11 gales than I can remember & after loads of flooding on the island on friday we are set for F9 or more plus flooding tomorrow. I've had enough!! & I'm used to manx weather :(

Wind and rain starting up again in Hampshire Sad.

Even with decent outdoor clothes it's been no weather for the kids to play outside. Tempers have been rather frayed these last few days of the Xmas break.

We have been upgrade to 'amber warning' for the next 12 hours, lots of roads already closed and others are barely impassable. I hope enough staff can get into school tomorrow to open ( I think a few of them live in the village but a few live quite far away ), luckily we are close to the school so the kids will be going in if it's open Smile not sure if dh will be going to work though.

They may put up warnings for Tuesday tomorrow I guess but the rainfall totals tomorrow look similar to Tuesdays and tomorrow's warnings are purely for wind.

Festive frolics, it does look less stormy from mid week but still unsettled I'm afraid. Just been watching James May going round IOM on his meccano bike :)

It's horrible having leaky houses isn't it :( ours can't be repaired til it dries up a bit so all we can do is watch it get worse.

I think this is making us all fractious.

One day it will end.

SE.
Suddenly noticed the pouring rain outside a couple of hours ago and the temperature outside had risen to 9.8.
I don't know why, but the 7-8 degrees on dog walks today felt nasty cold, when it has felt very mild at the same temperature. This was a damp penetrating cold today and don't like it .

OYBBK James May on his bike was hilarious, I haven't seen the program but what was wonderful was how all the bikers cheered him on. Did the TV prog show it took him nearly 2 days to do it?? One of my friends works at the TT control centre

Thank you for the weather update, unsettled I can cope with. Storm force winds & flooding, plus 2 small children & an over excited puppy that need walking in dangerous weather is doing my head in. My normal option is a trip to the beach but with the tidal flooding the local beach just isn't safe unless at low tide

"Thunder and lightening here in London just now, and the downpour has begun."

I didn't notice any of this! Possibly because I was down the pub Blush

Thanks as ever for your sterling reporting, OYBBK. Flowers I know it's not been much fun recently... though at least the reservoirs will be full for the summer

Wind starting to pick up, can hear it trying to get in the window frames. Local weather stations (wunderground) are not showing much wind speed, 4km/h, but gust showing as 19.3km/h. So guess it's the gust that is trying to get in!

We were woken at midnight by what sounded like our slightly ajar bedroom window being ripped out! Shock

Battled to close it and then it went very quiet. I hate sleeping with the window shut though.Sad

We had heavy squally rain on and off all afternoon/evening. Tameside
