mummylin2495 · 27/10/2013 23:26

You got to go to Norway quint ? Hope your dad is ok

ChubbyKitty · 27/10/2013 23:31

No rain yet in Newark. Have moved a few bits off the floor though just in case. Amazing how tidy my living room floor looks!

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 27/10/2013 23:31

Nothing much happening here yet, Suffolk, but forecast for middle of the night.

Dh is planning to drive in to work at about half six. He's got to drive twelve miles along country roads to the coast.

Should I stop him going?

BlackeyedSusan · 27/10/2013 23:33

good luck chubby. I suspect my cousin is on standby near the trent too.

PeppermintScreams · 27/10/2013 23:34

We're home in London after a long journey from Pagham. Lots of rain, but no wind yet.

Straitjacket · 27/10/2013 23:34

*The Danish Meteorological Institute issued a warning, saying winds of hurricane-strength are expected in some parts of Denmark and heightened water levels in western Jutland near the town Esbjerg.

The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute also issued a warning, saying it expects hurricane-strength winds to hit southern and western Sweden on Monday evening, potentially causing damage and travel disruptions. It said the stormy weather is expected to subside as it moves north on Tuesday and Wednesday.*

Got this from abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/uk-braces-severe-storm-20695127 for those asking about Denmark and Sweden earlier.

Sorry to hear about your Dad Quint, hope you can get out to him asap.

theywillgrowup · 27/10/2013 23:40

well in bournemouth weve had very heavy rain for hrs and the wind has suddenly increased alot,

could this be it i wonder

merlin · 27/10/2013 23:42

I'm there too Theywill- just checked Metoffice and it now says gusts up to around 60mph from now til 3am- hold on to your hats!!!

clam · 27/10/2013 23:43

Also, roadworks aside, I'm guessing the M4 is closed across the Severn bridge?

musicposy · 27/10/2013 23:45

Quint do hope your Dad is OK. DH is as sure as he can be it will be fine. Gatwick don't like to cancel flights unecessarily - it costs them a fortune besides all the disgruntled passengers! They always get running as soon as they safely can. In your shoes I would book for as soon as you can safely get to the airport and go from there.

WhoKnowsWhereTheSlimeGoes · 27/10/2013 23:46

Lots of rain but no real wind here yet (East Hants, 25 miles or so inland).

mummylin2495 · 27/10/2013 23:46

I think it's just arriving here. It's very very windy ! ( Bournemouth )

PowerPants · 27/10/2013 23:47

Hi to Bournemouth people...over the last half hour it's really coming in hard in Poole. We have a palm tree in the garden and it is doing that bending to the floor thing Shock

AChristmassyJerseySpud · 27/10/2013 23:49

Wind has seriously picked up now. Apparently we have 30 mins till the worst of it starts.

mummylin2495 · 27/10/2013 23:50

Sounds very noisy and it's very strong, going to look out of my front door

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 27/10/2013 23:51

Really not happy about dh driving to work in the morning. Think I'll get up with him and see what it's like

ICameOnTheJitney · 27/10/2013 23:53

Not a drop nor a breath here in Cheshire...nothing at all.

merlin · 27/10/2013 23:55

Hi fellow Bomo people- on my way to bed I thought I can't hear much I'll open the landing window to see what's going on - rain running down the road and trees waving all over the place! Stay safe everyone.
