And gro, thank you!

magimedi · 27/10/2013 17:51

East Sussex have suspended all rubbish collections for tomorrow morning.

iwantanafternoonnap · 27/10/2013 17:52

A 14 year old lad has been swept away at the beach where I live. Him and a mate were playing chicken in the waves and there has been a huge rescue operation but they haven't found him yet.

susiegrapevine · 27/10/2013 17:52

For god sake people I was panicking I'll admit but then I read its gonna be about as bad as a storm 5 years ago that's I sure as hell don't remember so everyone is going ott its not like the 1987 hurricane that's saw winds of 110mph this is only 60mph a lot I admit. But to cancel f**king trains before they even know if the storm is gonna hit is just plain stupid and on the only week I have to get the train cos dh needs the car to run my dad's business! Grrrrrrr! I am getting madder by the minute!

lagoonhaze · 27/10/2013 17:52

:-( where is that?

octopusinastringbag · 27/10/2013 17:53

noble I hope they are OK! We still have our table out, the umbrella has gone away in the shed but the bottom half of the pole is fixed into a solid metal weight and goes down through the middle of the table. None of us can lift it so fingers crossed!
I've got to collect my eldest from a party tonight, hope the wind comes afterwards.

octopusinastringbag · 27/10/2013 17:54

lagoon it's on the BBC news site. Very sad, very foolish but not any the less sad for it.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/10/2013 17:56

Well the heavy rain just started here, can hear it on the windows

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/10/2013 17:57

ringarosy - it depends. Did you fancy decluttering your toys? Ideal opportunity to share them with your neighbours Grin

CostaRicaToucan · 27/10/2013 17:58

I think it's quite right to cancel trains in advance, imagine everyone getting to the station and then nothing running - most people like to know in advance so that they can make contingency plans.

The meteorologists are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

youarewinning · 27/10/2013 17:58

Iwant Sad

Think Gatwick are cancelling/rescheduling flights as my cousins due to fly in morning and have been told of a 2 hr delay already.

lubeybooby · 27/10/2013 17:58

susiegrapevine but they DO know the storm is going to hit.

AChristmassyJerseySpud · 27/10/2013 17:59

I agree

Its good that they've cancelled them now, at least you can make other plans. Imagine if they didn't and did it short notice tomorrow. Massive outcry as to why it wasn't done sooner...

ScaryHalloweenName · 27/10/2013 17:59

Virtually no wind and only a little rain at the moment in mid Cornwall.

Roly did you see that Green Light is on 2013 on website now?

iwantanafternoonnap · 27/10/2013 17:59

No southern trains from 0100 until at least 0900.

I do not have any concrete to put onto trampoline but I have moved it so that it is between log cabin and DS playhouse.

It is Newhaven lagoon very sad.

lagoonhaze · 27/10/2013 18:00

I just read it. Very foolish and now volunteer RNLI lifeboat crew will be called out and be put in danger as well as other emergency personnel.

girliefriend · 27/10/2013 18:01

I'm in Somerset and its not stormy here - yet.....

LIZS · 27/10/2013 18:04

Typical , dh has day off booked and now wouldn't have been able to go into work anyway Hmm

CatAmongThePigeons · 27/10/2013 18:05

Very wet in south Devon but very still. There's not a breath of wind.

Mirage · 27/10/2013 18:06

Well my ponies are obviously shit at weather prediction,as they are not in the least bit skittish or spooky today. In fact, one of them had managed to remove his rug completely.I found it in the field, with all the fastenings done up still.Goodness only knows how her got out as it fastens around the neck, under the belly and across the chest. He must have wiggled out of it backwards.Hmm.

Wind gusting around the house,we are rural and exposed on 3 sides,am a bit concerned about the overhead power lines going across our garden and the tree at the bottom of the drive. The village is surrounded by hundreds of horse chestnut trees and they are over 100 years old and at the end of their lives.I can almost guarantee blocked roads tomorrow.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/10/2013 18:06

met office update

LadyStark · 27/10/2013 18:08

No rain yet but very windy here on the beach. We are just working out which bedroom is likely to be quietest and safest for DD!

TheGhostsAndGhoulsOfHitchhikin · 27/10/2013 18:09

OYBBK

I am in lincolnshire (waddington) My dp keeps telling me there is nothing to worry about, but I AM worried.

I have 7 Caravans outside my house (one which is just a shell as we are breaking it, it has no legs to anchor it and no windows). We are also surrounded by HUGE trees. Should I be worried or is dp right?
