We (in SE, near Camberley) had a dusting last night, enough to stay on trees but not roads. Pretty early this morning, but almost gone now.

BombayBadonkadonks · 14/01/2013 13:18

Falling steadily in East Yorks settling on the roads too.

starts panic buying tinned pears and kitty litter

wol1968 · 14/01/2013 13:21

Nothing but rain here in Southampton. Boooooooo... Envy to all you with the white stuff falling (as opposed to the shite stuff which was what I nearly typed Grin)

ChippingInNeedsSleepAndCoffee · 14/01/2013 13:34

We currently have 'slush' (I'm sure OYBBK would have a much more accurate description of it Grin) it's 'thick' rain, very 'icy' but so wet when it lands. Icy rain - I do know what it's called...hmmm.... nope, total brain fade.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/01/2013 13:48

chipping its either sleet or splodgy stuff. HTH Grin

edam · 14/01/2013 13:55

It was lovely this morning in Herts, just an inch or so of gorgeous fresh untrodden in show. Was snowing a couple of hours ago in west London where I work, but turned to rain now.

eastmidlandsnightnanny · 14/01/2013 14:03

snowed last night here in leicestershire and started again at 9am and still coming down was going out for carrots for casserole looks like its casserole with no carrots unless snow stops and can be arsed to drag buggy through it with toddler in as can bear to use the car as will have to clean it off and then slide to the shop and not that urgent!!

so glad am no night nannying at the moment especially as seem to get jobs in villages down small lanes - remember the time I got stuck on a sheet of ice and had to go back in and the mum moved my car for me and left it at the top of a very steep hill while I stayed inside with children she left car running and I slid my way walking up to it (was a very very long lane/hill and only 2 houses down there other people used it as a cut through and I got stuck as reversed for some silly arse who decided to use as cut through) I felt such a wally she didnt mind though and just laughed at me!!

iseenodust · 14/01/2013 14:04

The dog has done his taste test and it's definitely proper settling snow. Problem is it makes him wee for Britain so really need to leave the backdoor open for him to get out quickly but then he takes that as an invitation to eat more. Hmm

iseenodust · 14/01/2013 14:05

School closures have started in E Yorks.

valiumredhead · 14/01/2013 14:09

Ds is on his way home - school is closed!

Ok, so got to Kent and back with no disruptions on the train (miraculous!). Now raining in E Sussex so all pretty stuff has gone and everything is grey again Sad

FjorGynAndHotWater · 14/01/2013 14:26

In Wakefield, West Yorkshire, been snowing like mad all day but stopped and we have blue sky and sunshine now! Everything melting and dripping.

BuckyMummy · 14/01/2013 15:13

Plenty in London, nothing settling though!

TeWiSavesTheDay · 14/01/2013 15:27

Am hour or 2 ago we had about 2" I'd say, melting a bit now, sun out. More white stuff scheduled later so just hoping it won't all melt before then! Grin

tacal · 14/01/2013 15:32

lovely and sunny here in Glasgow. DS would love it to snow here.

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 14/01/2013 15:38

Snow here (Cambridgeshire Fens) and settling, the main road through our village is like a skidpan.

cluttercluttereverywhere · 14/01/2013 16:13

Currently on a train from edinburgh to London - nothing in edinburgh, bit of sleet near Newcastle, nothing at all now (nr York) but there is lots on the ground & it all looks very pretty.
Does anyone know what it's like now in London, am hoping that the tubes & buses won't all suddenly stop running again due to a flake or two!!

Catriona100 · 14/01/2013 16:31

clutter - i suspect it has all melted now in London. I live just outside the M25 and it had all melted by about 11am.

Have a look at the "live travel news" section on tfl's (transport for London) website. It says all is ok. www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/livetravelnews/realtime/tube/default.html

PseudoBadger · 14/01/2013 16:34

Plenty here in Barnet (north London)!

wibblyjelly · 14/01/2013 16:41

Clutter, I'm in east London, and its all melted. I think central is OK as well.
