I want snow!!!

OP posts:

Light dusting here in Kent. Apparently it's enough to warrant DD insisting on watching 'the snowman' DVD for the umpteenth time though Hmm

nannynick · 14/01/2013 08:08

Looked out of the window and there is some on roof and car tops, Lightwater Surrey. -1 outside.

lazarusb · 14/01/2013 08:08

Dusting but still snowing lightly on SE coast.

bruffin · 14/01/2013 08:13

Cheshunt and Harlow (Herts and Essex) both have snow, but as usually Harlow is a lot colder than Cheshunt.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2013 08:19

Was snowing in kent at 3am when was feeding my babes - more snow at work then have at home - thank god !!!

Blondes hates the snow !!!!

PseudoBadger · 14/01/2013 08:26

Couple of centimetres here N London/Herts border

digerd · 14/01/2013 08:43

I'm brunette and I dislike the snow too. Looks nice though.
Always thought natural blondes originated in Sweden??!! Read that blonde hair and blue eyes are a rarity now.

Supposed to be dry and sunny Wednesday in SE. Yeah

Piemistress · 14/01/2013 08:59

Lots now and settling very quickly in NE Scotland

LibrariansMakeNovelLovers · 14/01/2013 09:17

LibrariansMakeNovelLovers · 14/01/2013 09:17

I'm in mid-kent BTW

cowmop · 14/01/2013 09:31

We're in Staffordshire (1000mts above sea level). It's coming down hard and there's already a good inch covering pavements and couple of inches in drifts etc. Just got back from walking the kids to school and am wondering if I've got time for a brew before they ring to say they are closing!

Peetle · 14/01/2013 09:34

Up to half an inch in places in North London this morning. The DTs came home from school on Friday saying they were going on Monday even if there was snow - presumably they'd been given an edict at school that it would be open regardless.

Supposed to be very cold all week and then another dump of snow on Friday night. Bring it on.

JammySplodger · 14/01/2013 09:41

Had about half an inch overnight in Sheffield though it's started back up ever so gently again this morning.

It was already starting to be a bit slippery underfoot on the walk to school, if that gets down to -6 overnight it'll be like an ice rink.

Madmog · 14/01/2013 09:47

We had a light dusting late last night in Gloucestershire. It's raining now.

After two bad winters in 2009/10 and 2010/11, invested in snow boots, a sledge and snow disk for last winter and we haven't used them each so a day or two of snow would go down well. Then we'd like some sunny dry weather here please.

Cowmop, do your kids go to a small school? If my daughter's old school was open in the morning, it would stay open all day whatever. However, they would put a blackboard up sometimes saying parents were welcome to collect kids. Might you there were 450+ children there so too many to phone around. I guess it's the same at her new one as there are 1600+. Whatever you obviously can't relax if you are expecting a phone call.

SecondhandRose · 14/01/2013 10:03

Am in west Essex, it is white but not much. It was snowing as the kids left for school and they were worried they would be "snowed out" (thank you Michael McIntyre).

DoItToJulia · 14/01/2013 10:05

Light dusting of dandruff over night, but now snowing heavily here in Brum....

naffedoff · 14/01/2013 10:10

In Leeds. Bit of snow overnight but roads ok this morning. It started snowing again about 9.30 and is gathering momentum...

OldBeanbagz · 14/01/2013 10:13

There was a sprinkling when i got up this morning. Started falling again at 9.30am this morning and has been falling steadily since.

Am wondering how long it will be before school closes!

SurroundedByBlue · 14/01/2013 10:39

Snowing here (west mids) looks too wet out to settle though. Am 38 weeks pregnant so hoping it goes away quickly!

TeWiSavesTheDay · 14/01/2013 10:46

We have snow on the ground and snow in the sky. Only an inch or so, fingers crossed for more settling!

We are very central England.

SPsFanjoIsAsComfyAsAOnesie · 14/01/2013 10:48

In Leeds and snows falling but not laying

quoteunquote · 14/01/2013 11:10

None here in south devon.

Catriona100 · 14/01/2013 11:34

Its snowing right now here in Surrey but its not lying.

SamraLee · 14/01/2013 11:35

Snow is falling and settling in Oldham. The ground is white, but you can still make out the grass.

GloriaSnow · 14/01/2013 11:53

Using DDs Hello Kitty ruler my highly technical measuring device, we've had just over 1cm of snow and it's still falling steadily. My weather station on the other hand, thinks that it's raining and that we've had 0.0mm in the last 24 hours! Confused
