Yesterday I persuaded my son to accompany me on a walk to a remote gym to rescue my Pokémon who has been stuck there for 150 days!!! I actually put him in there when I was on a train passing a bridge on a canal. I think there’s enough time to pop a Pokémon in while you are passing on a train but not enough time to beat the gym. So he beat the gym and sent all the other five who were stuck with me too! 😂. It was about a 25 minute walk along a remote footpath and then canal. Beautiful walk though and we saw a kingfisher and a herd of fallow deer.

Of course they decide to remove the levelling up tasks between levels 40 and 50 when I’ve made it to level 48. Thankfully I hadn’t done much work on this one, I’ve only managed one lucky trade out of the 50 it wants and I hadn’t done any of the long distance trades it wanted either.

Of course I wasn’t bothering to use eggs to double XP on friendship levelling up though, I didn’t see the point when I had such a long way to go in the tasks. Time to just work on my XP again then LOL.

I've just reached 4 out of 8 on the level 47 25k task. I'm relieved to be off the hook! I tend to fall into the low 20s in term time and when the weather is uncomfortable and I wasn't getting out much earlier this year due to eyesight issues so I'm glad that will be gone!

No chance of me gaining the 60 million XP to reach level 50 in 7 weeks, mind! I've been doing a steady level a year since level 44.

@PickAChew apparently they’re lowering the 25km x 8 to x2 so if/when that happens you should auto complete that one 👍

@Tarkan having experienced an expanded levels previously, and hearing rumours for months now, I generally use a lucky egg when going ultra and best. I haven’t worried too much about maximising or coordinating that though which I might also come to regret. Let’s hope there’s some element of challenges rather than just xp with the new higher levels 😕
As far as lucky trades go, trade your trash daily with a friend/family member and you’ll likely get a few each day if you max those trades out.

@Asparename glad you got your pokemon back. Ds would have been livid if you’d released one of his in the process though as he used to (when he still played) actively try and stay is a gym as long as possible. The one in Canada we were in for over a year he has actually still got on Ingress and that’s I think 6years now. Just bear in mind not everyone necessarily wants their mon released…
I’d suggest avoiding putting a mon in a gym with low turnover if you don’t want it stuck there. You can click on the mons in the gym to see how long they’ve been in there. Glad you got to enjoy a nice walk with your ds. I assume he didn’t add to the gym and you’ll need to go release him in a few weeks time… 🫣

I didn't really do much this weekend. No one in my family will play with me anymore. Not even DS who started me. He says he's got all the fun he wants from it. But I caught two tatsugiri (jumped into a raid with one of you, thanks!)

But that said, my favourite morning ritual is opening all your gifts and sending gifts while drinking my coffee. It's nice to know that there are mothers like me all over playing a friendly game. It makes me feel better about everything so thank you all for that 😄

@ISaySteadyOn Thats so lovely. I’m glad to know that I am able to brighten your day even just a tiny bit in this way.

I also started playing because of Ds. He doesn’t really play any more but I use an old phone to keep his trainer going. Initially as I thought he’d come back to it and didn’t want him to fall too far behind, but in time it has made it the only feasible way to play as a remote player.

i would stop and play for maybe 30mins on my commute home and always making sure I had enough gifts stacked up to hand out to friends for the next day and then pick up more on the way to work.

Since I’ve been on sick leave it’s helped keep me sane throughout the chemo and ongoing treatments. I know I’m playing a bit too much right now, but once I’m back to work with less time for pogo my priority will still be sending and opening gifts. I always try to prioritise those to and from other mum friends from here, so it’s really lovely to hear this is appreciated and that you do the same 💐

Hey! We're lucky friends (GalarianPony920). DH actually is pretty nice about PoGo, he will always happily look at anything I catch and he gave me a bunch of t shirts with Pokémon on them. Wearing my water type one today 😄

DS2 doesn't want to catch and evolve random stuff any more but he is hugely amused by max battles. I think he likes it when gengar throws furniture around 😂

I'm always amused when someone sends me a gift from somewhere I've been. I got one, this morning, from a MNer who I don't think posts here any more that I'd had in my own bag just 2 weeks ago! Not unfeasible as they only live about 50-60 miles away but it still makes me smile that other people are interacting with the world in the same way.

Im level 47, I need to stop bothering trying with level up requirements now and just look at XP.

I have a friend who got to level 50 in like a week when it was released, desperate to see how far he jumps up when new levels are released.

I was down in Boro, last week. Haven't been in the town centre for a long time. We took DS1 for the charity shops and even they were disappointing.

My goal is 48 by mid October instead of Christmas though it's looking less likely now they've "corrected" the catch bonus.

They are rubbish. I mostly just go to the Daisy Chain out of town or sometimes Stockton for DVDs. If I have time I go to Stokesley, they are good there.

So much for my excitement over the mast here working again. Not sure if I said yesterday but I was out and data wasn’t working again and apparently it’s now going to be September 1st before it’s sorted. So I can only play when I’m somewhere with WiFi I can connect to. So bloody annoying.

@Bickybics Welcome to the chat. I know Boro a bit and have a few friends from there who still play daily. Ds got loads of stops added in and around the area back when he used to play and was in Boro for 3 years.
I also have family in Gateshead so we do occasionally head up that way to visit them.

I did get shiny Dondozo from research, yesterday. It's beautifully big and yellow!

Ive been stuck at home the past few days. Maybe I should venture out and try and pick up some research tasks while they’re still available.
I did get a standard Dondozo from a walk 1km task so I guess I need to find some more of those before community day starts and then drive around the 20mph areas walk a bit to complete it.

Oh, yes, I'm stuck with 3 eggs to hatch for the XP research and no 2k ones in my bag. I find a crawly bus best for that!

Yep. I got my 3 eggs hatched before the rain reached us. Also needed a raid for L…but not one was available in the circle of 6 gyms within running back home when the heavens open distance. Then I got home and 2 gyms that I had walked past just 10 minutes previously had raids on them with just 10 minutes left on the timer

Second time this week that’s happened.

I found the thread! I have 3.5 million more XP to go for Level 50, so I'm just concentrating on hammering the normal gameplay when I can. I don't have limitless free time or RL money to spend or anybody to go and do the walking for me, but I'm hoping to get to it by the end of the month

Having looked through the 7 million XP research tasks there's no way I'll get even halfway through it, but I've managed 1.5 million in the last week so I should be OK (because I really, badly want a nondescript bomber jacket)
