Ooh look! A shiny new thread! Hello everybody.

After my triumphant day of beating Giovanni and finally completing the quest where you catch Mew, I got beaten (repeatedly) by a grunt using those stupid bat things. Ah well, can't win them all.
Excitingly, there's a new gym as of this evening, just round the corner from my house. Too far away to access from home but a lot nearer than the other local ones.

Try an alolan golem: rock and electric in one.
The bats are also weak to ice and psychic moves.

Hi all! I'm finally doing the 'Purify 15 Shadow Pokemon' task, which I've never bothered with much before. Also finally fought a balloon Grunt.

@ignatiusjreilly One of mine is a Moto G7 Power. I like the size of the screen, chunkiness of it and the battery life. It doesn't overheat when playing like some phones. I think I'd recommend it in general.

One issue it does have is the screen reactivity is a bit strange. So you have to press on really hard when doing charged moves and can miss some bits. You have to change the touch sensitivity to as much as possible.

I imagine the G8 is even better.

@sandycloud, I’ve sent friend request from Flowerpearl99, hope you don’t mind.

I play on a G7 Plus and an E6S (cheapie so I can raid with my DS8, and occasionally on my own after he's in bed!). The G is definitely better performance but they're both fine if you don't use AR mode.

Just been opening gifts and notice Debstonmon2 is about to go Ultra Friends in one day with Tallulah Fox, Poketwoboys and Emziiex3. I think at least a couple of you are on here if you want to co ordinegg?

Is anyone else having trouble with the team rocket tasks? I completed 2/2 but the third one never appeared for over an hour, then I’ve just purified the 3 Pokemon it asks for and only 2 have registered. Very annoying!

Yay we beat Giovanni! Powered up my aggron then used rhyperior and Jolteon. Nidoking was his second Pokémon again.

How do you know when you're one gift away from leveling up friends?

@TheMShip I only just noticed recently, when you look at your friends screen and tap on a particular friend, if you tap on the friendship level bit top left, it will say, eg, play for one more day to become Ultra Friends / Great friends.

@bellabelly I'm Tallulah. I don't have a lucky egg at the moment but if I can get enough coins in time for Tuesday I'm getting one for the evolve hour so maybe do it then? No worries if you want to do it before or after though to fit in with others.

That is brilliant. Have just created a spreadsheet with friends across main & alt account so I can keep track. Love a spreadsheet. Have not gone crazy enough to track my catches though!

I'll post when I have 1 day to go for ultra friends for either account.

Double Lapras Sierra is a right pita. I've burned through dozens of revives!

Have you had a good day? I've enjoyed the extra balloons as I am trying to do the battle challenge. I think I might just make it if I can catch every balloon and maybe find 1 rocket pokestop before it ends...
Have been saving up my low candy to evolve pokemon so I have I think 10 or so evolves for Tuesday night...
Thanks for the tip on friends - I might go through and see if any are due to level up soon - I have an egg so I think I better make sure tea is finished by 6 so I can be on there evolving and sending gifts!!!

I had to give up on Sierra, she was so tricky today. I'm normally relieved when it's Sierra and not Cliff or Arlo but she's obviously had her Weetabix today!
