Evening. I’ve managed a couple of battles. Seems a pretty easy way to accumulate stardust, which is handy.

@Soubriquet, the thread starter usually thinks of the title. When I do it I have 2 priorities; 1/ make people smile and 2/ give people an earworm, and it appears this title has achieved both (cheers @Tinkerbellisnotafairy ). I did put literally moments into this one, some do take a lot longer. :o

I'm still waiting for a Cubone so I can get a step nearer to Meltan. Hopefully I'll get one over the weekend... Not holding my breath though/

I still need 2 exeggcutes to progress with the Meltan task. I managed to get 2 from field research then caught a wild one on my pogo plus. The last 2 field research tasks have given me blooming lanterns!

I just need one more Omanyte to progress in my Meltan task. Annoyingly there was a Cubone hanging around work yesterday when I didn't need it any more! Wish I could teleport it over to you guys!

So far I'm not that impressed with the battles. Mine keeps glitching and freezing, and I don't like not being able to dodge. I'm sure they'll improve it over time though...

@catchyjem you can just about guarantee that when you no longer need eggsecutes, they'll be everywhere!

Morning all. Just checking in. I'm enjoying the PvP. It's nice to have something to do in the game when sitting at home other than appraise Pokémon.

I may just randomly challenge people. Hope that's ok. And obviously decline if it's not a good time.

I really think there needs to be a thing to say if someone is online so you can challenge them. Or maybe a push notification so you can see someone has challenged you. I keep sending challenges but the other person is obvs not online to accept

Also do I trigger the protective screen thing or does it just do it itself?

TinselAngel You are offered the chance to use a protective shield just before you are hit with your opposition’s charge attack.

tryingtocatchthewind It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, your first three battles of the day with other players and your first with the computer give you the chance of either XP or an evolution item (including a Sinnoh stone).

IncyWincyGrownUp It’s not; rewards are capped at four battles a day (one with the computer, three with other trainers).

I am very happy these battles add to the thought defunct Ace Trainer medal! That that badge has been obsolete and unfinished since before the gym rework nearly two years ago has very much frustrated me ever since

I think I'm getting the hang of battle, now. I love the leagues because you get to play with pokemon you'd usually leave behind. Swampert is great for the sub 2500 league and really cheap to give a second charge move to.
