I'm not sure if they can be detected. Either way, they are a godsend when I have a toddler in one hand and the buggy in the other.

I think they can potentially be detected fairly easily based on catch time data. If they look at how quick the button is 'pressed' and log a pattern.

The introduction of trading is potentially a trigger for cracking down on 3rd party go plus's because stardust now has a black market monetry value and the ability to harvest it passivly instead of activly is a big boost to those looking to exploit trading.

I'm another one who probably won't get much done with trading... I only managed to get 1 level 3 raid while I was in London, waited at a couple of level 5s but not enough people came by to make it worthwhile using a raid pass. Was good to meet other players though! Made me think that it might be worth travelling more locally, to Chester or similar, for another Community day. And there's always the hope that the summer holidays and the arrival of the tourists will see local raids be possible.

In exciting news, I went from having no Lapras' to having three today with the 'evolve two Shellder' task!! Still in search of the excellent curve ball one for an Absol, only a couple of days to go but I'm ever hopeful!

Next Community Day is Squirtle. (No surprises there!) Hydro Cannon is in the update so we expect that to be the move.

I’m not massively fussed for Squirtle to be honest.

Ah well I'm glad they've said that before the end of the water event otherwise I might have been tempted to evolve my 86% squirtle, when actually I'll hold onto my candies and hope for a few shinies and higher IVs to evolve instead. I got a few Lapras too (laprases? Lapri?!) today having evolved four for the tasks.

Can people still gps spoof because I’m convinced it’s happening in my village.

Quite a few times I’ve been battling the gym which is next door to me. So I’m in my house, there’s only two houses you can be in and hit the gym and my neighbour does not play Pokemon go. So a few times as I’m battling their Pokémon their health keeps going up but I put it down to golden razz berries.

Same thing happened tonight but I kept going and knocked three of them out the gym after watching their health go up multiple times. And then five mins later they battle me out the gym but there’s nobody in the street!

I'm really disappointed that Squirtle is the next Community Day. It seems really poorly timed as there have been loads about thanks to the Water Festival. 😰

Could it be possible that your neighbours have visitors? Or do you have a shop/pub/town hall where you can GPS drift?

Last time I was in my local Morrisons, instead of my normal very local GPS drift, it drifted me to a station 4.5 miles away.

Neighbours don’t have visitors. Nowhere else under cover they could be. I could say maybe gps drift if it happened once but it’s the same 3names frequently doing it.

It’s a very small village and I don’t recognise the names either, one is a very Asian sounding name....nobody in the village who’s Asian. And the other is Toby. No Toby’s in the village. I mean people could have picked names nothing to do with their real name but it’s unusual to pick a proper name as a fake name.

Spoofing unfortunately still happens, only they don’t usually target gyms as there’s little to gain. If they don’t live nearby they won’t be too bothered about being gold.

Spoofing is mostly done in raids, but they are cracking down on it; a new banwave has literally just gone out.

What task?! I didn't think you could evolve a Lapras? I don't have any special tasks to do just field. Is it a field task?
Not fussed about squirtle either so close to water event. Only draw like seahorses says is shinies.

Evolve 2 shellder gives you a (bloody awkward to catch) lapras.

@tumpymummy I've had a special field research task 'Water Event: Evolve two Shellder' and then you encounter a Lapras. I evolved four Shellder so I've got two Lapras through it.

tumpymummy You’re right: Lapras doesn’t evolve from or to anything. It’s a reward from an evolve research task.

So, if you’re desperate for Lapras, keep spinning every PokeStop (with a free research task slot). If it isn’t ‘Evolve 2 Shellder’, delete it and carry on. Eventually you should find a PokeStop that will drop that particular task.

Then do it again tomorrow, as PokeStops change what tasks they drop every day

SneakyGremlins The latest update from last night/this morning contains trading and friendship levels (as in, they’re in the code), we’re just waiting for them to ‘flip the switch’ as it were and make it go live

You can see smaller changes though, such as the new Alolan loading screen and the screen where it shows your XP is different.

Ah right! Thankyou noticed the new loading screen so was confused!

SneakyGremlins No worries Events and updates usually come live for us at about 9pm as that’s just after lunch in the US, so I’m hopeful it’ll be tonight.

You never know though, they could keep us waiting

I always find the ones with ridiculously low CP have Great IV. It’s so annoying.
