Anybody remember this? No? Just me then. I managed to raid and catch Latios yesterday.

Do you think it will be possible to ever get some of the Pokémon in ways other than raids? There’s no Pokémon group in my town and none of my friends play ☹️. I’m getting fed up with missing out on all the raids that need more than 1 person.

@NameyMcNameChange00 you can now get some legendarys in the field research tasks so yes I do think it will be possible.

Are you sure there are no groups? Have you looked on Facebook? Our groups are now all on messenger or Telegramm and the Dutch group I am in when I’m here in Holland is on WhatsApp

Did you not see anyone playing on Saturday for the community day?

I live in a fairly small tourist town and although there’s a fairly active group for the area there’s not one specific to my town.

I did catch a few people playing on Saturday but it all looked like tourists so not going to be around regularly for raids.

NameyMcNameChange00 Level 1 and 2 Raids are easily soloable, and Level 3 Raids can be soloed too with the right Pokémon and movesets.

Level 4 Pokemon are almost all Pokemon that you can obtain if you evolve their first (and second if applicable) forms. The only exception to this is Absol.

So it’s exceptionally doubtful that Pokémon available as raid bosses up to Level 4 will ever be available as the weekly research rewards, as that would be a massive disappointment for the majority of players, since you can obtain them via catching, hatching and/or walking, it will just take you a while.

Level 5 Raids, legendaries, have started to become available as the weekly research rewards. In April it was Moltres, May was Zapdos and June is Articuno. So it changes on a month-by-month basis.

I very much doubt Mewtwo will ever be available as a reward though, since it’s an ex-raid boss and the most powerful and sought after Pokémon in the games history. It would also be a huge slap in the face after so many of us have spent so much time working out Ex-Raids.

@NameyMcNameChange00 that’s a shame. It’s fun doing raids with other people, one of the best parts of playing Pokemon go.

@NameyMcNameChange00 Absol can be found in the "Throw an Excellent Curveball" task (which I am useless at).

Ahh yes, there is that currently active quest too so definitely look out for that! Chance of a shiny as well.

Ooh I’ll keep a look out for that task then kpo. I can manage to solo most of the level 3 ones but no chance for anything higher. I’m glad I’ve got the Moltres, zapdos and articuno at last though. Agree anything other than legendaries would be disappointing for weekly tasks.

What about the regionals? How have people got them? I don’t really approve of other people logging on for me. I got Tauros ages ago in US but not got the others. Do you think they’ll ever come on holiday here or something?

Can you ask someone to do it for you?
Unfortunately Niantic won't replace your invite with one with a more convenient time.

Regionals have moved about a bit already over the last year or so. Not sure if any more are planned except corsula is going to be in Dortmund in 2 weeks time just for the weekend.

Ooh trading sounds exciting. Did everyone only get one invite then? I thought I read that someone earlier on had got several special invites?

NameyMcNameChange00 Sometimes regionals are moved, but only temporarily. Usually for special events and only in certain locations.

So for example, last August, Kangaskhan appeared in select UK cities for a short time (can’t remember if it was two weeks or a month).

Similarly, Farfetch’d was released in the UK for a short time last November, and you could get it anywhere in the UK, not just certain cities.

Based on this, it is expected for Tauros to make an appearance in the UK at some point this year. I would imagine they would release other regionals here before re-releasing past regionals (Kangaskhan and Farfetch’d).

Ex-raid invites are very hard to come by if you don’t know where to target and when.

To get an ex-raid invite there are certain boxes you need to tick, and not all of them are known. Hence this is the plus of being in a raid group - raid groups spent months working out the locations of ex-raid gyms and when they should be hit in order to return a pass.

Even with all the calculations and even if you do everything possible, you are not guaranteed an ex-raid pass.

I love the new friend features alongside trading. It will mean you can’t trade via the internet as you have to be within 100m of each other, which is good.

Also stardust has now become even more rare and special than it already was!

It will cost 1 million stardust to trade a legendary Pokemon, shiny Pokemon or Pokemon you haven’t got in your PokeDex yet.

However, a higher friend level means a reduced cost. So if you were trading a legendary or shiny with your Best Friend, the cost would go from 1 million stardust to 40,000, which is a huge drop.

I like the idea of being able to give items to friends. I get out walking loads and usually fill up my bag really quickly. The kids on the other hand don't, so it will be really good if I can empty my bag in their directions.

MuddlingMackem It doesn’t sound like it’ll be a case of being able to give items from your bag (ie. balls or potions) but rather a special gift box you get from a PokeStop.

When you spin a Photo Disc at a PokéStop or Gym, you have a chance of receiving a special Gift. Although you can’t open the Gifts you receive from PokéStops, you can send them to a friend on your Friend List. Inside the Gift will be a stash of helpful items, which your friend will receive along with a postcard showing where you picked up your Gift. Gifts can also include a special surprise: an Egg that, when hatched, will contain an Alolan form of a Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region!

So sounds like the gift box will contain items you might usually get from a stop as well as special ones too, like the Alolan egg.

So does this mean that people who have multiple accounts (and therefore raid together etc) will be able to gift these boxes to their other accounts and trade with themselves?

bettytaghetti I assume that’s the reason the stardust is so high, to try and combat multiple account players.
