Anybody remember this? No? Just me then. I managed to raid and catch Latios yesterday.

Finally after catching 360 of the little buggers I got my shiny!
As IV's go, at 71%, it's most certainly not my worst shiny, so glad I finally caught it. Like others I will also be glad to see the back of this event!
Having not been able to log in all day, I took advantage of trying to catch everything I could whilst going round the greater part of the south circular in a taxi on the way to a friend's birthday bash! For once I would have been quite happy to go at a slower pace due to heavy traffic. Alas our driver had other plans and clearly thought he was taking part in a Mad Max film! (Admittedly South London does sometimes resemble an apocalyptic landscape).
Hi Sneaky! This group is lovely to chat to and we're all different levels. Some are very useful sources of info for us nubes ; I for one, greatly appreciate the help given here.

Hatched this, and caught a 97% latios today! Successful day of pokemon for me :)

I bought a go tcha! Oh my goodness how much better than a Pokemon go plus!!! No buzzing and pushing to catch Pokémon any more it just does it for me! I seem to catch more and spin more gyms and stops too.

SneakyGremlins A Gotcha is a wristband you can wear that catches Pokemon and spins Pokestops automatically.

A shiny Pokemon is just a Pokemon that is a different colour to what it usually is (ie. yellow/gold Magikarp when they’re usually red, purple Wailmer instead of blue etc.) Except for community days, they are exceptionally rare, so if you find one, you’re very lucky!

I’ve attached a photo of all the Pokemon that have the possibility to be shiny and what they look like as shiny

SneakyGremlins Meant to say, shinies are independent of each other, so if you and a mate click on the same Pokemon, it can be shiny for you but not for her. You also don’t know if a Pokemon is shiny until you click on it, so if you want a particular shiny Pokemon, your best chance is to click on every single one of that Pokémon!

This is my go-tcha catching Pokémon
for me while I’m Mumsnetting in the exec lounge at Schipol airport waiting for my flight back home.

My shiny total is still four. Not managed to catch any of the fighting ones this last couple of weeks despite catching hundreds of the fat men and the smurfs.

I’m multitasking and also acting as the secret shopper for Klm (which just gets me extra airmiles).

My shiny total is still 25. Try as I might, I can’t seem to find shiny Meditite or Makuhita, despite clicking on hundreds of them!

I have:
• 5 shiny Bulbasaurs *
• 1 shiny Ivysaur *
• 1 shiny Venosaur *
• 2 shiny Pikachu *
• 1 shiny Magikarp
• 2 shiny Gyarados
• 2 shiny Dratini *
• 1 shiny Dragonair *
• 1 shiny Dragonite *
• 1 shiny Pichu
• 4 shiny Mareep *
• 1 shiny Flaaffy *
• 1 shiny Ampharos *
• 1 shiny Wailmer
• 1 shiny Altaria

19 were found on community days (indicated with an asterisk *), 5 were found randomly in the wild and 1 was hatched (Pichu).

Sorry I’m a bit late to the party on this. But..... I’m stuck on the Mystical Discovery catching 10 bloody ghosts. Where can I find them? I feel like I’m going to be waiting until the Halloween event at this rate!

BeesAndMist Ghosts have increased spawns during the hours of 8pm and 2am, so those are your best chances to see them out and about. I’ve caught a couple on the way to work around 6/7am though.

You can also look out for Sableye raids

For the first couple of weeks after the Mew quest was revealed, ghosts and dittos were everywhere. Now they’re not. So when they release the next special research quest it is probably worth doing it as quickly as possible, as the Pokemon needed will have increased spawns for a while.

I’ve managed to get 3 so far, all ones that have appeared as mystery Pokemon from completeing the daily tasks. It’s going to be a long slog.

I'm hoping when this event is over the ghosts will be back to normal. Been stuck for ages on that task.

With the gotcha will it spin gyms? A client I work at sometimes has the office as a gym but I cant really sit there spinning it.
Also can you do it so it only spins and doesn't catch?

You can set it to spin gyms and stops and catch or just spin or just catch!

BeesAndMist Yes, that’s another one - specifically get the research task that yields a Ghost (the rewards for each task aren’t random, they’re preset).

At the moment, the only research task that rewards a Ghost is Make 3 Great Throws, and you get a Ghastly.

BeesAndMist You’re welcome When specifically looking, you can keep a slot free and then spin each PokeStop and keep deleting the task until you find the stop for that day that gives you the one you want
