Despite only really playing at the weekend due to working I'm now 180k through Level 31. Today I cheated somewhat. The M25 was stationary, so I opened the app and left it on. I had 8 eggs cooking and between junctions 18 and 22 managed to hatch 7 of them. Mantine, 2x Exegcute, Krabby, Eevee, Togepi and Magby.

Congrats Abbey on reaching Level 30, and commiserations Spammy on not being able to log in.

With this 50 coin limit per day I don't see the point in feeding berries?

I do it just to make sure we keep the gym. Even if I'm not going to get coins from it when it comes out, is rather my team hold it than either of the other two.

I would love it if they rewarded bringing a gym down. Most of the players here are blue, I spend ages tearing blue gyms down and they are back up within a few hours. This system is better but the reward system isn't fair or balanced. Maybe after the coin limit is reached returning 'mon could bring stardust, or xp.

I know I really don't get this 50 coin limit. I didn't realise it existed yesterday so went around putting mons in gyms and feeding. Some were battles, some spaces. But today when I'm sure some will run out of motivation there's no point in going to other new gyms - no point in playing today!

Dame I like your idea of extra stardust. I read somewhere you get extra stardust if you feed a mon a berry (but only 20).

I'm sure they will tweak the gym coin limit in time as right now its a but rubbish. I find the best thing for me to do is take over the gum in the graveyard in the evening so less chance of anyone taking it off that night whereas there's no point taking any of the gyms in the centre as they get taken back immediately.

Soubriquet - yes it is quite easy. You just need a gym pass which you get automatically from your first gym-spin of the day.

Once you have the pass, you wait for the raid to start, turn in your pass and have a couple of minutes to select your team. Then you just battle like always. You get rewards from defeating the boss, including white poke balls, which you can then use to capture the boss.

What I don't understand is the private raid function.

Is it the case that you can go to raid a gym and there are 5 other players standing around, but that if those 5 are all in a private group, you are essentially battling alone? Or do you still battle simultaneously, and if that's the case, what is the point?

I know at some point you'll be able to create raids, so is the private raiding thing meant more for that?

I have been trying to research this but I can't find the answer.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion If you get there and a group has already started battling, you can't join them until they finish, and only if they lose.

If they win, that's that, you're in a group on your own or with whoever has recently turned up.

You can have many simultaneous battles running throughout the hour depending on when people turn up.

If you turn up and a group is battling, if they give you the code for the battle, you click "private group" and you can get in with them. But if they aren't expecting you, nobody is going to have taken note of the code to give it to you!

atm we are putting our Scizor into gyms because it looks like it's waving when you click in to check on it Grin we don't have the most scientific approach
Someone asked what's the point of feeding the pokemon. We were feeding our's to try to keep its motivation up until the next day because we'd already had a pokemon return with 50 coins.

Our Typhlosion that I popped into the gym on the way to work in the morning is already back, he fought hard and brought 18 coins back with him for about 3 hours in the gym. I'm quite happy with that and have nursed him back to his full strength.

Click on the rare candy, click on the Pokemon in your collection you want to feed it to and it becomes a candy for that Pokemon. Mine has been turning into Mareep candy as I've only got the one and I'm already sick of walking it.

How do the rare candies work?

You have a chance of getting them when you do raids. Not sure how common they are though, because I've done about six or seven raids now and haven't had any (though I have had a fast and a charged TM). DH, lucky bugger, has got about six rare candies.

I've done 3 raids (solo'd two) and I have 5 rare candy. I'm saving it for now.

A word to the wise, level 5 raids are said to be legendary Pokémon. Once they come out, you're going to want to have a lot of golden razzberries!

Got really frustrated today - spent about twenty minutes knocking a gum down to its last monster and then it suddenly started pissing it down so ran for shelter and then the game decided to give me the error message every time I tried to battle that last pokemon. Finally managed it and put my blissey in and the bugger got knocked out in 50 minutes

My cunning plan for today was to chuck stuff into gyms so that something would get knocked out today and bring with it some coins towards my 50 coin maximum. I took down a gym and stuck something in it and nipped in to three others. That was seven hours ago and I'm still in them all.

I've done four raids solo, there seems to be only me and the horses out here and the horses don't play. I've had rare candy each time but no TM yet.

K so this 50 coins a day, when does a day start and finish? Is it midnight till midnight?

I had a super time smashing blue gyms down for the hell of it but it's cleaning me out of potions and revives.

Had a new pokestop turn up today too, wasn't there yesterday, was there today!

Everything is still a bit glitchy but so much better than the last couple of days. I could actually get close to gyms and stops today.

Strange that you haven, had any rare candy howto I've had some on all mine ,(only done three though) have you checked in your items? Rare candy is a total game changer, I've had 5 which is like walking 25k with blissey or snorlax.

Raided a bayleef and a quilava today, I even moved my lunch break at work to go to a raid Blush

There were a couple of sheepish looking 30 something chaps at the raid near work, we sort of gave each other sidelong glances for a bit, then I said 'are you here for the.. umm...' and gestured euphemistically at the statue that is the gym. Then we all smiled and talked about raids Grin
