Despite only really playing at the weekend due to working I'm now 180k through Level 31. Today I cheated somewhat. The M25 was stationary, so I opened the app and left it on. I had 8 eggs cooking and between junctions 18 and 22 managed to hatch 7 of them. Mantine, 2x Exegcute, Krabby, Eevee, Togepi and Magby.

Congrats Abbey on reaching Level 30, and commiserations Spammy on not being able to log in.

Managed to get into 3 gyms but glitchy as hell. I had one last battle and I kept glitching out, persevered and got in.

It was weird after I won, the gym didn't go grey but i could still add my Pokemon, but it stayed blue, turned red after I reloaded the game, weird!

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 25/06/2017 21:22

RueDeWakening I don't think it's the new training, no. Feeding berries to friendly Pokemon gives you stardust and there is a chance of a candy too. It also means you're more likely to stay in the gym longer if everyone's motivation is high.

What don't you get? I can try and help if I can Smile

DameDeDoubtance · 25/06/2017 21:24

So this is me in a blue gym, even though I'm red.

DameDeDoubtance Are you sure it's not red? The circle border in the top corner is red...

DameDeDoubtance · 25/06/2017 21:40

Circle border was red but the outside of the gym remained blue until I closed the app and restarted. It didn't go grey after I won either.

DameDeDoubtance · 25/06/2017 21:46

Happened twice. I also battled a Gyrados who was dead, absolutely dead, yep definitely dead but still fought on. I kept restarting the app and having another pop.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 25/06/2017 21:50

Weird Confused I think it's normal to expect glitches at this stage, though.

They'll be working hard to fix them.

DameDeDoubtance · 25/06/2017 21:58

You almost expect it after an update. Still fun though and I am happy with the gym update, so much better for everyone.

I took a fully manned high cp gym down in under 20 minutes, despite the glitches. Previously that gym was stuffed full of Blisseys, for months.

The game has opened up again.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 25/06/2017 22:07

Oh yes, I love the new gym rework and raid inclusions Smile

RueDeWakening · 25/06/2017 22:17

I wasn't in the gym myself, it was my team holding it though - I thought that meant I couldn't feed berries to the Pokemon in there, but apparently not.

Is it right that if there's a space I could just pop one of mine in without having to train it up?

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 25/06/2017 22:23

Is it right that if there's a space I could just pop one of mine in without having to train it up?

Absolutely. If it's your teams gym and there is a free space, you can just drop one in Smile No training required.

You can also feed any friendly Pokemon in any gym regardless of whether or not you're also in it.

DoctorTwo · 26/06/2017 04:53

Thanks for the tips all. I thought one had to pre-register for a raid, but I was wrong. I'll have another go after work if I can find a raid that's about to happen.

What does the green bar mean for the gym?

I believe it's how far you along you are towards your next badge.

Igneococcus · 26/06/2017 10:55

Oh ok, yes that makes sense.
There is a raid starting in 32 minutes close by, red egg, only one head, would probably be doable even on my own, but it is across the water and I'm at work, dang.

pinkblink · 26/06/2017 11:20

I'm so confused by the new coins thing, Iv got a Pokemon in a local gym currently been in there 1day 22hours, once I make it over two days will it still only come back with 50 coins or will I get 100 as it's 50 a day tops? I can't work out if 50 is the total I can collect in one day or if it's the most the Pokemon can get?
I noticed a few come back with no coins after 5/6 hours yesterday as I'd already had 50 off another Confused

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 26/06/2017 11:30

pinkblink At the moment, 50 coins is the total you can get per day.

pinkblink · 26/06/2017 11:44

Pants 🙄

WooWooSister · 26/06/2017 11:53

pinkblink yy exactly. Last night, we got a pokemon back that had been in the gym since it was constructed ie over 2 days. We didn't get any coins because earlier another pokemon had come back with 50 coins. It was disappointing especially since we had stocked it up with berries to try to see it through the night Sad

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 26/06/2017 11:55

Yes, it's a shame. I think they're still reworking the coins issue though.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 26/06/2017 11:55

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 26/06/2017 12:40

If you have a Pokémon in a gym for 2 weeks, you'll still just get 50 coins when it eventually comes out. If you have 10 Pokémon in gyms for 2 weeks and they all come out on the same day, you still get 50 coins total.

If you have 10 Pokémon in gyms and they come out over the course of 10 days, you get 500 coins.

Come on, Niantic! I hope you guys are pretty frantically tweaking the hell out of this!

On the other hand, I love most everything about the new gyms and raids, especially that I keep seeing players who are quite a low level and who I never ever saw before. Obviously they were pretty much excluded from the gyms before, but now they have a chance.

CrazedZombie · 26/06/2017 12:44

It's created the weird situation that if you want to slow down the other teams, don't take their gyms down.

I think that Niantic need to add a coin incentive to take down gyms.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 26/06/2017 12:50

Yes, Zombie. If a different team has plenty of gyms in your area, it's best to leave them for aaaagggeesss and then take them all down simultaneously.

For me, it means it's a bit pointless being in more than one gym. All that happens by putting Pokémon in more than one is that I lose good Pokémon for raiding!

I cannot imagine this was Niantic's intention.

Also, the gym badges are a bit disappointing. I think as you level the badges up, it should give you some kind of +1 stardust bonus for feeding, in the same way as you 'type' badges give you a +1 catch bonus for each level.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 26/06/2017 12:52

But I guess it's early doors. Considering everyone thought raids and gyms would be in Beta for weeks, I guess the problems coming up are not massive and can be solved.
