Despite only really playing at the weekend due to working I'm now 180k through Level 31. Today I cheated somewhat. The M25 was stationary, so I opened the app and left it on. I had 8 eggs cooking and between junctions 18 and 22 managed to hatch 7 of them. Mantine, 2x Exegcute, Krabby, Eevee, Togepi and Magby.

Congrats Abbey on reaching Level 30, and commiserations Spammy on not being able to log in.

Well, dd got her ass handed to her when she couldn't defeat a 22970 Alakazam all by herself. But no, she could do it. What a waste of 100 coins on a raid pass.

The latest consensus is that Pokemon defending gyms should be under 3000 CP for the moment due to increased motivation decay.

Did our first raid today, was Level 1 and we did it on our own. Got a Quilava, 3 rare candy and a golden razberry which I used to catch the Quilava.

what she wasn't alone, I was there. The gym is at a cafe- she asked me if she could battle in the raid, I said no because we have used today's pass already and you need loads of people. She did anyway whilst I was in a loo. I had my "Mother knows best" moment and there's now no pokemon for her for 3 days.

Agh. DS battled ok yesterday after the first error. So we are in The City for big raids hopefully with more people. And his stupid phone is doing the error thing. We didn't bring his dad's phone and I can't download the huge program via 4G.

Definitely going to have to get a new phone.

I tried to get involved in a raid but couldn't figure out how. I have a raid pass, but just couldn't seem to be able to use it.

In other news, I caught a Mareep! That's me up to 217.

The alakjazam is pretty difficult. Having read up, s lot of the moves it's vulnerable to tend not to occur in high level Pokémon (dark, ghost, big), hence having more success with high hp Pokemon.

You find an ongoing raid, DoctorTwo, by using your nearby screen.

If it's Level 1, you can do it yourself. If it's any higher, you'll need people to do it with, so don't spend your raid pass without checking if you can actually beat it or not Grin

Anyone else finding the app glitchy today? My phone normally plays the game beautifully, better than my daughters or dh's, but today has been a struggle.

Red no gps bar 50% of the time, even when gps is fine with other apps. I have also struggled to get close to things as my avatar won't budge, then she moves then suddenly glitches to the next field.

I was just playing my patch today which is normally smooth as silk, oh well.

I might have a pop at the gym round the corner in the mo, try and get one of my guys in for the night.

Yep, it was challenging, but I put that down to playing in a big shopping mall. We got into a gym that wandered all over the place and kept having to restart and walk about until we got back into range!

It was fine this morning but glitchy this evening. We were feeding our pokemon that is in a gym. After a few razzberries, it said it was fed up of razzberries; nanaberries and pinap berries and wanted different berries which basically only left golden razzberries but every time we tried to give it a golden one, we got an error message. We had to leave the pokemon about three quarters full.

Advice please! A raid is starting in 20 mins at my local (rural) gym. Not many players here but someone booted me out of the gym an hour ago. So if I go just before the start time, do you reckon we can take this down with just two of us, or will it need more?
DH has just reminded me to put a bra on before I go so I don't startle the young'uns.

And do I get a raid pass by spinning the stop on this gym? Can I do that while the battle is live? I read that golden eggs are more rare, right?

Ok so it was a glorious 28k CP Charizard (which I don't have!) but there was no one visible at all. It showed me and the guy who is holding the gym battling, but he definitely wasn't there. So does the mon holding the gym participate in battles? Or is this guy spoofing my gym?!

For reference I scarcely made a dent in it.

NamelessEnsign Golden raid eggs are really hard; this one was Level 4, so you'd need at least 5 or 6 people to have a chance at taking it down.

Pokemon in the gym aren't able to battle.

How do you think he was in the battle too? When it said number of players battling during th countdown to the battle, did it come up with you and the picture of the other guy?

Thanks What - I knew it would be hard but was hoping the golden egg raid would unearth the other players in the village. Obviously if they didn't show for a golden raid on day two they aren't ever going to, and I have little hope of participating near home!

When I joined the raid and the countdown began, it flickered to show another player, and said two players for the raid. I saw one other Pokemon in the arena battling too.

So basically it showed up like this - but he definitely wasn't there (unless he was inside the church already and didn't come out despite stopping playing). No houses or cars near enough either.

NamelessEnsign Yeah, with golden raids, it's worth sitting around to see if others show before spending your raid pass, because with one or two it's just impossible.

DH and I spent an hour yesterday waiting to see if people would show for a Tyrannitar. Eventually there were five of us, but it was at the end of the hour so we didn't make it.

That's strange and I can't explain it as I have no knowledge of spoofing. I can't see what he'd have to gain from cheating at this particular point, though, since two isn't enough.

Baffling, right? Thank you. I didn't mind spending the raid pass as there is no where else to play around here. Wasted a few revives having a pop at it though!

Does anyone know if you can accrue raid passes if you don't use them? Or do the apply and expire daily?

NamelessEnsign I believe you can only hold one free raid pass at a time. So it's not that it expires, it's just you don't get one the next day if you already have one.

It seems you can have as many premium ones as you like though.

So, I accidentally fed berries to a friendly gym Pokemon as we drove past in the car earlier (I wasn't driving! Grin) - and I now have a gym badge acknowledging it. Is this the new "training" equivalent?

DH and I did our first raid today - first time he's played for about 3 months. We both caught a level 720 ish Bayleef, a first for me.

I still don't get it though!
