Hello you lovely lot. Nowt new today, but at least I caught a couple of Squirtles and have enough candy to get Wartortle, so that's 4 to add to my Pokedex when I do a Lucky Egg mass evolve.

I always razzberry and ultra ball abras for the same reason. I'm hoping that I get a good few catches of abra before I start buddying to reduce the km to be walked!

LongtimeLurkerNowPokemonHunter · 14/11/2016 17:05

weedle you can fight more when there's a number in the shield but if someone takes your gym down while you're fighting you lose the original coins. And it's 21 hours between so it's annoying if you collect then win another gym!

dementedpixie · 14/11/2016 17:33

I managed to get me and ds into 2 gyms today (were still in 1 before that) so managed to collect us 30 coins each. I have never seen a snorlax and really want one. I have hatched 3 lapras though! Ds is jealous as he doesn't have lapras or snorlax either. Seem to be getting an awful lot of Mr Mime here just now

JellyWitch · 14/11/2016 18:01

Lots of Mr Mime here too. I am thinking about powering one up to sit high in gyms. He's 1132CP caught and I've just popped him in a gym tonight for a laugh.

islandmummy · 14/11/2016 18:02

Weedles Elvedon is not bad for pokemon - there's 2 or 3 gyms, and quite a few pokestops, with a few clustered around the centre area which often have lures on. Obviously the cycling is great for egg hatching too! I'd recommend using a PoGoPlus if you have one, or getting a clip to attach your phone to your bike handle bars and cycling carefully with a patient family happy to stop every so often for you to catch things!! Grin

DoctorTwo · 14/11/2016 18:14

I caught a Lickitung today in the same spot I caught a Nidoqueen yesterday. What a weird looking thing. :o Now up to 97/149 on the Pokedex.

Welcome back Weedles, glad to hear MiniWeedle is doing well.

Hello Weedles good to know that baby weedle is doing good

derektheladyhamster · 14/11/2016 19:42

Finally I've caught a pikachu!

Cooroo · 14/11/2016 22:15

Do you all catch Pikachu by visiting some new or special place, or do they randomly appear in your usual haunts?

dementedpixie · 14/11/2016 22:21

I hatched 3 of mine! Think I've caught 2 in random places but not seen any for ages

EnidButton · 14/11/2016 22:26

Congratulations derek!!

Not quite as exciting but I finally got a 10km egg from a pokestop. My first and I'm almost at level 23.

PickAChew · 14/11/2016 22:33

A 10,000mAh is pretty good for a day out pokemon hunting.

Currently have 250 in my bag and 300 pokemon storage. Will have to increase the pokemon storae for 2nd gen and will get DS1 some google play cards for birthday and Christmas so he can do the same - though discovered he had 8 bloody jigglypuffs, when i tried to catch him the final poliwag he wanted for a poliwrath, this afternoon. he's a terrible hoarder like his dad

JellyWitch · 14/11/2016 22:54

Fab news about the pikachu, Derek! I hatched one and caught one - both very exciting moments.

Stopped to pop my Snorlax in a gym this evening. That was the first time I have prestiges effectively with raticates and I was very impressed - 500 points per battle as they were less than half the CP of what I was fighting.

tumpymummy · 14/11/2016 23:48

Jelly what did you use your Raticate against? I would never have thought of using him, but have just looked and i have one with 120 hyperbeam, so could be good.

PickAChew · 15/11/2016 00:06

Raticates do look ood - don't do much gyming, but have a few because of their potential and always rename my best hyperbeam.

It also strikes me that wigglytuffs and clefables would be good for defense because they have immense HP

SailingThroughTime · 15/11/2016 06:53

My best Wigglytuff made mincemeat of a Dragonite 3 timea its size.

SailingThroughTime · 15/11/2016 06:55

Oops just checked and I'd powered it up to 1639. It has Pound and Play Rough. Play Rough is hilarious but effective.
I'm going to see what Disarming Voice looks like next time I'm gyming

JellyWitch · 15/11/2016 08:15

Tumpy - I used 815 and 751 raticates against a 1809 Arcanine. Then 875 tangela and 808 jolteon to take out a 2043 Vaporeon. It took most of both Pokemon for each battle but a clear 500 prestige points each time (so 1000 for the round). Then I ducked out before tackling the dragonite, because my dewgong is properly shit!

Icouldbeknitting · 15/11/2016 09:01

I've been on the bus this morning, successfully spun every Pokestop I passed and managed to throw a Snorlax into a gym. Have they reversed the recent change on playing while moving or was my bus particularly slow?

I have missing stardust. Sure I haven't powered up this morning but I collected from 9 gyms - was half asleep so didn't check what came in - but when I looked later I had less than 1000 stardust. :( I run it fairly empty so it looks like it just didn't get added this morning.

nuttelladreams · 15/11/2016 09:56

Yesterday I found my victrabelk to be awesome taking down a vaporeon. Better then anything else I tried. I've now powered up my dewong following your advice and will try it next time.

Still in 4 gyms this morning. I can't remember where one of them is. I fear it might be in a cemetery Shock

JellyWitch · 15/11/2016 10:02

Yes grass is great against water. My victreebell is too high a CP (1500) to be good for prestiging, sadly. I need more quality beasts in the 550-900 range, which means trying to evolve the lower CP Pokemon I guess if they have good IVs. It's a complex process!

nuttelladreams · 15/11/2016 10:45

Jelly the gym I was levelling up yesterday had its lowest Pokemon at 2200 so my 1600 victrebell did the trick. I'm finding this happens on a lot of gyms around here - all Pokemon are really high and levelling up is tricky. Ended up putting my top man in there (2670 dragonite) so as to be the highest one and avoid being kicked out after all this effort.

JellyWitch · 15/11/2016 10:56

I end up levelling against Pokemon in the 1000-1500 range. Someone left a 1040CP Snorlax in the bottom of one of my favourite gyms and that was a proper PITA to level against. I have a great little wigglytuff but at 1150CP she needs at least a 2300 Snorlax to get max points and there aren't many of those locally. I am hoping to get one around 900 next time (busy saving those jiggly puffs).

Last night's 1800/2000 CP ones were just perfect to work with.
