Hello you lovely lot. Nowt new today, but at least I caught a couple of Squirtles and have enough candy to get Wartortle, so that's 4 to add to my Pokedex when I do a Lucky Egg mass evolve.

Apparently you can't place your pokemongo buddy in the gym! So if you're walking one of your strongest guys as a buddy, you can't use him as a defender. I had no idea.

Powered up a gym this morning so I could get both me and ds in it. Had to defeat the 3 Pokemon in it 4 times to get the 2000 prestige! That's one way to use up my excess potions. Got there in the end even though I am clueless about what works against what.

Demented pixie: ground against electric; electric against water; grass against water; water against fire; fire against ice; ice against dragon; dark against psychic. Normal against anything (raticates and wigglytuff are great prestigers).

I have numbered my fighters in 100CP groups and named them for what they are good against. I can them easily find them to make up a team (they go to the top if I sort by name) and I can easily see where my type gaps are at which levels. My goal is to have about 4 or 5 solid teams covering the main Pokemon I train against in gyms.

Oh and bug against psychic; flying against big.

Tomorrow morning I'm skiving work free for a couple of hours in the morning and am seriously considering going to the imperial war museum for some bulbassaur culture enlightenment. Would you say it's worth it?

On another note I don't fucking need any more spearrows in my life. I'm almost dreading this bird event if it happens! I'll feel obliged to catch them and can't stand the bastards.

I'm down to just 8 ultra balls. A piddling 3 items per stop and not getting to stops much is taking me out of this game.

Been buddying Seel for candies to evolve and, on the way into town this afternoon and still 2 candies shy, I caught a 600CP one I can evolve and then, just before my stop, caught a Porygon. First time I've ever seen one, never even seen a shadow before. When I got off the bus I backtracked to try and get it for DD and DS too but I must have just timed it right as there was nothing for them.

This speed thing has killed my game as I use a long bus ride to stock up on balls then catch everything. Plus pokestops are so stingy now, 7 day bonus just gives you the extra you would have got anyway.

Feeling grumpy now as I can no longer play the way I want to and the pidgeys are laughing at me. I may have imagined that last bit.

You must have much faster buses than ours Princess, I'm still catching everything on the school bus run.

Our buses go really fast. You have to hold on! Bet people on buses around here won't be able to hit pokestops as they travel. I've been mostly ok in the car so far. A couple missed but the ones we regularly pass are in a 30 mph zone and everyone goes slower, so fine.

I can't imagine anyone needing anymore birds ffs. I'd like one of those two headed emu things but otherwise...

I'm playing less as I can't get pokeballs as a passenger ans the drop rate is rubbish. Caught a hitmonchan and a dragonite in thr wild today, hoping useful for trading in future. Other than that just waiting for anything new to he released!

My DS caught a bulbasuar tonight while I was driving, he also caught a dratini but it ran away with raspberry and an Ultra ball.

No egg hatching here today as we are on a 10 k egg..Fingers crossed.

Got a new 10km egg on my last pokestop before home. It's in my 3 uses incubator saved for such occasions. With any luck we'll get the thanksgiving thing and it'll hatch during that time.

Just hatched a Doduo from a 5k egg and now have enough candy for a Dotrio.

You're not a dunce. Prestiging is taking a friendly gym up a level - you increase its prestige points by winning battles.

Thanks Jelly when you said your victreebell was too high cp and you needed lower CP Pokemon for prestiging, do you use a lower CP so you can then beat it to build up the gyms prestige? That actually makes sense!

Yes, you get better points for a lower CP Pokemon winning, up to (currently) 500 points prestige for the gym if the attacking Pokemon is no more than half the CP of the defender.
