Aaand on other news I've spent £3.99 this evening. Bought 3 incubators and upgraded Pokemon storage to 400. Not been able to cash on any gyms today. They all seem to be high level and I can't get in. More people are definitely playing due to this Halloween thing.

I wonder what they will do for xmas.

Dilite. I evolved 79 Pokemon one of which was a new one.

People on Reddit get more than I do but I can't see how I can do it any faster.

I favourite all the ones I want to evolve and then I set a timer and the lucky egg at exactly the same time then get to work.

As soon as each one evolves I I click the favourite star as I close it. That way I just keep evolving which ever Pokemon is in the top left hand side of my screen. As I have the timer running on another screen I don't have to check if the egg has run out.

spun also 28, and chucked my pokemon cards not long ago. Gutted.

Im half way through 28, 6 pokemon to go! One is ready to evolve, and two are close so hoping to hit level 29 at 139 in the pokedex. I just can't get my buddy to recognise me walking. Such a waste on the boosted candy.

I am 48 and female! I started playing pokemon go about a week after it was launched as it was something my teenage son (15) was doing and I thought it would be fun to play together. It was to start off with and a couple of times we battled gyms together which was fun, with him giving me tips. But he's stopped playing now. I am so glad this thread is around as darent admit to any of my friends that I am playing, they would think I'm mad! Hubby doesn't get it at all!

Get yourself over to aibu Queen and get it off your chest. People often sneer at stuff they don't understand. It's like they get worried someone is enjoying something without them. Everyone likes different stuff so it's ridiculous to be sneery about anything. Especially when it's as harmless as this.

Mid 30's. It helped take my mind off being long term ill. Really helped in fact. Not so much now as being ill is stopping me going out as much but it's still nice to follow what everyone else is up to.

Doctor, I've seen plenty of men out your sort of age playing (not all of them with kids). I had a (mild mannered) run in the other week with a couple about my age (I'm late 30s) who were out taking gyms (my gyms!), having left their kids at home. I play locally with another mum my sort of age (we are more keen than the kids to be honest).

I've just had to take a gym back on the way to work. Also expanded my Pokemon storage as I haven't had time to appraise and transfer everything and I am on my way back into London again today. Working but hoping for good hunting too.

45 and female, started playing with dd then kinda took over when she lost interest. She still walks every evening with me and goes on pokehunts but I get ditched near a poke stop when she finds a Game store.

Don'tBe talk me through the favouritng when your evolving again please

I have a physical list of my evolutions which I go through alphabetically, use the clock and never check back to the egg. When I evolve I tick the green tick before I go on to the next one, what happens if I favourite instead?

Doctor there are loads of blokes playing, when we chased down our Gyarados we were wading through blokes.

I'm 35 000 away from level 26 and we're off out today on a veeeerrrry ssslllooooow bus, happy days!

I see middle aged blokes all the time. In fact there is one who is always taking gyms near me - at least he's on the same team.

Saw a few guys with suits and briefcases in green park the other day and that was funny!

I've told dh I'm meeting a friend for a drink after work tomorrow. I'll spend 2 hours in green park. I'll come clean eventually!

Would it be silly to evolve a second Charizard? I have enough candy and should have even more by the end of today. My first one is 98% perfect, powered right up and no good in gyms in Pokemon Go anyway (although I reckon at 2000CP I can get it high enough in the hierarchy to stick for a bit in home gyms).

Or maybe I should just evolve 5 charmanders for the XP!

Jelly I often find myself in this very dilemma. I suppose it depends how much you battle in gyms and whether you prefer to level up. I generally evolve only one and then do the other lower ones for xp in the hope I'll catch up with queen level up a little faster.

I do fight in gyms a lot but have a pretty awesome attack and defence team anyway without another fire Pokemon (even though it is beautiful).

Despite doing a lucky egg yesterday I'm already siting on 51 to evolve (54 if you count charmanders) so should be good to go again first thing tomorrow. Level 26-27 in 48 hours! Catching Queen up as best I can.

We really should try and arrange to meet sometime. Came close to seeing QueenLiz yesterday but I did have the child in tow so it wasn't ideal.

Can somebody talk to me about 'IV's?

I have been kicked out of MY gym at the local village park by the team yellow, it's a bunch of teens that live up the road. Gonna go out later and take it back and I'm also going to attempt to take down the other gym they've been holding for weeks!

I'm early 30s and also play with my mid 30s colleague, we sneak away for walks at lunchtime. It is definitely a game for everybody.

It's a complicated assessment of CP, HP and the appraisal results. CP is really the deciding factor in gyms because of where you get places but if you're choosing a Pokemon to evolve, picking one that got top IVs should result in one that's better at fighting.For example, the difference between my best and worst Slowbro is one main move versus at least three main moves in a battle: my top one is really hard to bea despite them both having similar CP.

bumwad I use an app called poke genie to calculate IVs. You just take a screenshot of your Pokemon then the app calculates the IV for you so it's really quick. Sometimes it asks you to put in the appraisal info too.
The only disadvantage is that you get a load of screenshots/photos of your Pokemon so you have to remember to delete the photos from your phone unless you want to be embarrassed when u go to show a non Pokemon friend a photo of something completely unrelated!

I'm 28yo female. I remember having the 'battle poster' you put on a table with spaces for all your cards whilst battling. It's a great blast from the past. I haven't been watching the old episodes though, oh no not me

Cant get out today as too much to do at home but I could try sneak a nip to the shop when DH gets home.
I'm on 106 caught now - hope I can get a few more in this weekend so the Halloween thing was worth it
