So many Pokemon! I was in the car so couldn't keep up but it was good to see so many when usually we're lucky here if there's 10 in the whole town. Must've passed a total of 150 today. Still got all the pokestops even in the car, more than usual actually as 3G was working for once. Lots and lots of rewards from each pokestop, had to completely empty potions out three times to make more room for balls. Saw a dratini shadow and a pincer shadow but neither popped up. Know where to find the dratinis now though. When is this special on until again please? Do we know the reason for it?

Oh and caught my first Uri Geller Kadabra. Low cp but nice to fill a gap.

Hatched an Omanyte today, my first one. Nothing else to report

That list is cool for 2nd gen pokemon. I've got plenty candy for zubat, slowpoke, eevee and horsea so far but nothing for the others where I haven't even evolved all the way yet or caught more than 1!

I don't like the look of all those 2nd gen pokemon. They look too shiny and polished. They have no soul.

Finally hatched a snorlax though!

I'm not sure I can face gen 2. Nearly there with the current pokedex and a bit cheesed off with the changes to gym prestiging. I am still holding my local gyms but just don't have the heart to tear down enemies' gyms L6+ because it just doesn't seem fair when it will take them hours to rebuild.

What are the changes to gym prestiging?

My Raichu has been at Lakeside for 3 weeks now. I kinda want it back to be honest. Although it is nice to get my 10 coins every day.

How do you remember what gyms your Pokemon are in? I wish the app would tell you

They've made it easier to attack and harder to prestige back up (halved the points you get for training battles). If I take someone's high level gym down it will take me a fraction of the time it will take them to rebuild.

There has been a Blue-Yellow war of attrition round here for weeks with a few gyms left untouched but 5 or 6 that swap hands. There is possibly now an unspoken pact to leave well alone! I don't want to take out their towers and risk retaliation, because I rather like my regular coin stream and don't have time to retake gyms daily.

Why not rename your Pokemon with the gym name? No one but you can see that anyway.

The other downside to the prestiging changes is that there is less incentive to gain stardust and gather a top defending and prestiging team (the latter at a range of CP). If I'm only going to hold a gym for a short time and my teammates won't be able to boost it up before I lose it then why bother investing in a good defender - I might as well chuck a Rattata in there and save on revives.

Im not that excited about the 2nd generation as I still have 20 to catch from first gen.

With the gym thing, it does get a bit serious. Talk of facebook groups to alert people to go out and defend gyms which are being attacked, etc it is afterall only a game.

I am quite glad the local gyms were taken out they were level 10 for weeks and couldnt get near them and now they change all the time again. People will just stop playing if they cant get a gym anymore which is not what niantic want.

I didn't have a problem tearing down high level gyms before. But really I think all they needed to do was balance it so the same effort was needed to take up and take down?

But as you say, it's just a game and the game masters can do with it as they will. I'm sure it will be tweaked again.

I think it's a good thing that it's easier to take over gyms now. Means one team can't control all of the gyms all the time, like they do here.

Exactly the gyms in town here were all red and had been for weeks. Not so anymore.

We have a good balance here, maybe that is unusual! I'm also Team Mystic, which is an advantage I suspect.

I'm team mystic. There are now level 10 gyms which dont get taken down as they are in quieter areas, and I just got in one by chance. The other one I've stayed in is on a main road so who knows.

The rest had been red or yellow for a long time. Every time I got the bus to town, I took one look at the horizon and I knew it was pointless and now I can take out a gym easily again.

I rename mine where the gym is, helps me keep track. Still lost one from before I started that!
