You either swipe up or poke the button on the bottom right (it has up/down arrows on it). Either will make your team pop up and then you pick the one you want. While you are doing this your Pokemon is still out there taking damage so if you leave it to the very last moment it will still faint.

If you are me you will not watch what you are doing and will run away instead of switch (that's the other button on the right).

Thanks both - I didn't know that at all. It makes more sense now about picking a specific Pokemon with certain skills to fight

QueenLizIII, I was walking home behind the children from their activity, dawdling because I'd been catching pokemon, when my phone buzzed. What should be there but a Pikachu! As I was on foot I was able to do the necessary logging in and out to catch one for me and both kids. Annoyingly theirs are 299CP whilst mine is a crappy 84. Bah! If I go back to the same place later do you think I might find a higher one?

And I got my coins from both gyms. Woo hoo!

I have 800m left on buddy vulpix to evolve. cant be arsed to go and walk it.

There were a few high ones and I've not bothered until today. The prestige is going down much faster than before. On the first one by fighting 6 I got it down by 6k!! Well worth it to take those which have been under the same team for ages. But oh man I've used potions.

I am sorely tempted to nip back down and see if Pikachu is still around for a second visit. Would that be obsessive?

I also managed to catch a couple of Abras during tonight's walk, but also had another couple go poof, which is incredibly annoying. That's about six in total which have poofed over the last week or so. However, I now only need 9 candies for my Alakazam, but could do with catching one with a high enough CP to be worth evolving, a couple of the previous ones which went poof were about 500 or 600 CP, so once I've got the candies I'll hang fire on evolving until I've caught one of those.

As things stand, I'll be able to add another 10 as well as Alakazam at my next lucky egg evolving session, and it may even be more if I walk another buddy for candies whilst waiting to catch a decent Abra. :)

I've been stuck at home with D&V

Just catching the usual crap that's spawning at my house. I did get a rare Omanyte mind. Slowly running low low on balls!

Is it me, or have pokestops been super generous today? I have been getting at least 8 items from each stop all day today.

I am loving the huge increase in spawned pokemon and the variety that spawn. I had 7 appear at my house this morning, when usually I only get one. Thank to catching 6 slowpokes today, I am now only 4 candies away from a slowbro- I had not caught a slowpoke for months.

its a shame it took so long for them to make the game worth playing.

Dollie there's extra rewards on pokestops and more Pokemon than usual from today till the 11th.

Oh, only for a few days? That sucks donkey's balls. I got all excited about being able to keep my bag full quickly.

yeah I visited one pokestop tonight then didn't bother opening it. Mind you, it is snowing and it's so cold so I didn't want to drag my ill self out.

I will try to get some motivation for the next few days, want to level up to 30. I wonder if I'll get my lost arcanine back soon, since I finally got blastoise back today!! Definitely renaming them after the gym they're in now (tip from someone on facebook!).

Fancying a trip to Luss at some point, have heard there's been someone in a gym since August since the signal is rotten, but hoping I have some as it would be a nice 10 coins!

I've managed to get loads of new Pokemon with the Halloween event and all the extra spawns. I've also discovered a charmander nest fairly near home and bulbasaurs near work so I can hopefully catch enough of both to evolve before they change. My pokedex is at 128 and 13 lines. My most recent addition was Lickitung which popped up on my sightings at 11pm last night. Of course I had to get up and hunt the weird thing down. I'd have never got to sleep if I hadn't!
