I'm finding the drop rate from pokestops has doubled. If those using cars (passengers) slow by the stops it's all bumper!

Levelled up..Just got an Abra.

Jelly you've been spoilt with all these gyms. Hopefully it won't be the end for you.
I'm happy if I cash in on 3 per day.

I know I'm spoiled. Taking my London trained Pokemon into the Home Counties! So long as I don't have to retake them every day - that would get boring!

That said, only a few more to go and I am winding down. If my son will let me (he wants me to save candy for gen 2).

Yay! I managed to hang on in the first gym and got my candies. Doubt I'll still be there in another 21 hours though. Although hope DD and I are still in in the morning so she can get her coins. :)

Ds and I are still in 3 gyms and have been for a few days now. Don't know what to spend my coins on.

My DS got all our usual pokestops today whilst I was driving - I was going just under 30mph in a 30 zone, so either it's not changed for us or works if you're travelling at less than 30mph.

My target is 400 coins ultimately, extra bag storage and extra pokemon storage, hence getting into gyms. DD I think just likes the idea of being in a gym and having pokecoins, don't think she's actually thought that far ahead. :)

I too see the coins as the main reason for bothering with gyms.
I've bought 8 lucky eggs and increased storage, and a few incubators here and there (despite my better judgement).

I bought incubator first, then lucky egg and just bought more storage.. Now I have levelled up may well go for another lucky egg so the next level doesn't seem so far away.

I bought 8 eggs with the intention to use 2 per level from 25 to 29 when I think I get some more. I've got 4 left so am within budget. It feels impossible to level up without them so in my view they are totally first priority.

I've still got three of the four lucky eggs I've got from levelling up, so no rush for more as I won't be doing evolving sessions that often just yet. I won't be using a second until I have enough candy to evolve an Abra to an Alakazam. Might need to buy some in the future though. I can't see me getting many coins as I can't see me being in many gyms.

OK, so after dropping down to 2 spawns per hour, we now seem to have loads of new ones. Have yet to work out which are reliable.

All seem to be bloody vermin, mind.

And we only hit one pokestop, today - the pokeball roundabout in hartlepool. Got the try again later message, unfortunately for DS1, who is out of pokeballs.

DS2 is off school for the next 2 days because of the local TA strike, so we might get a few, together, on the bus, and make DS1 happy.

Yay! Finally completed the European pokedex! And got a better lapras too!

Ok, I need to get a grip and realise that this is JUST A GAME!! And I need to rant! Have just been out for dinner with lovely mum friends I haven't seen for ages. Rather than get a lift home I opt to walk, so I can walk my bulbasaur and catch Pokemon on the way home (although I don't admit this to my friends). From my house I can see 4 gyms. 3 are always red now, 1 is yellow (my team) but it is always level 10 so no room for me. This evening on the way home I see it has gone down to level 9 so I take a detour and stand there in the cold battling. I'm wondering if I have lost my marbles, a grown mother, nearly 50 years, standing in the cold, jabbing at my phone, vulnerable. But I think it will be worth it because my timer ends in a few hours and I only have 1 other poke in a gym so it will be great to collect 20 coins for once. I battle hard and thankfully with numb fingers the prestige goes up to 50000. But then whilst I am reviving my best Pokemon to put in someone walks past. I go to put him in and Blody h**l there's no extra spot. The person who walked past must have nabbed my spot. And what really makes me mad is that is someone from my own team. I wouldn't mind so much if I had turned a gym grey and someone valour or mystic snuck in but it feels worse that it was a fellow team member. So I had to then walk all the wAy home with frozen fingers. Not happy, sorry rant over!

Raging tumpy - I totally feel your pain! We never battle with the one we want to put into the gym in case of that exact scenario!

Is it just me, or does Grimer lurking behind my avatar there remind anyone else of Trump skulking about behind Clinton during the presidential debates? Certainly looks more stalker than buddy to me. But I need those candies, so...

(On unrelated note, I really do like that you now get 25XP for monsters that go pouff! - still hugely frustrating, of course, but at least you get SOMETHING...)

tumpy that's tough! Good advice to keep a safe one to pop in quickly. I've always battled quiet gyms with plenty of time for healing, I'd be livid if all that time and potions were wasted!

I feel your pain tumpy it has also happened to me. That exact thing. Including being in the cold alone.
Like the others I now decide which one I'll put in before I battle and don't use it for fighting.
I thought someone said the gym was locked for you for a little while though? Or is that just for an enemy gym?

I think gyms are only locked for you once you take down an enemy gym and turn it grey. I did read somewhere too that the prestige of a gym can also go up whilst u r battling so whilst u r busy battling someone can also slip their poke in ( ooh err mrs!). In which case i don't know what u can do to avoid that. Normally I dont fight with my defender but I wanted to put my best poke in but then also needed him to battle. Because it was quiet and cold I didn't think I needed to be so careful. Should have realised that the only other people stupid enough to be out late in the cold would be other Pokemon hunters.
