Just wondering if anyone is interested in a vegan chat thread , inspired by a reply I gave on another vegan thread ,I don't know any vegans to just chat to.
We are a vegan family, but other than that ,I don't know any vegans,I'm not in any vegan groups.
It's actually a big part of my life ,that I don't really get to talk about at all.
Be nice to chat to any other vegans, especially at night when I often can't sleep

We are .... looking to book to go to the vegan camp out next year ..but not actually camp ,book an air b and b near by ..just waiting for DC number 1 to check her work hours and DC number 2 to decide if he's coming or staying home .so that's definitely something to look forward to

I'd love to go to vegan campout.

Well, i have already changed my mind @Springswallow !!

I decided I couldn't cope with the idea of learning a new recipe today.

So tonight I am cooking a potato, mushroom, courgette and sweetcorn dauphinois using an oat milk bechemel instead.

Dcs will still have the vegan meatball pasta.

I did blend a can of cannellini beans (still with can juice) with a tablespoon of tahini, a heavy dollop of garlic paste out of a tube, salt, pepper and lemon juice as a 'hummus'. I am sick of chickpea hummus, tbh (and don't like cumin) so thought I'd try somethig new. Its too sloppy though so DH is going to use it as a salad dressing rather than a dip. It;s not bad!! (Though it's very garlic heavy).

I do something similar with butterbeans, I don't use the water though. Just mash them up and season. Good as a dip or spread.

I've just had a large salad with seeds, vegan grated cheese and olives, with vegan mayo, and a pile of seitan with hummus.

I was going to diet down this week after weeks of heavy lifting and bulking but I was invited to a family dinner last night. Had two Aldi salt and vinegar fish fillets and chips made in the air fryer with mushy peas. Not exactly diet friendly! But today and the foreseeable I will be cutting.

My body is already visibly muscular and people notice, I was told I should compete last week. I'd like to get to a point where I look something like Jehina Malik but that's something of a dream! I currently have very visible traps, biceps and leg muscles which is a good image for veganism IMO. Two fingers up to the 'can't get enough protein' or 'weak and skinny' brigade. I bench press 11st currently.

Does anyone know the latest on gas chamber laws being changed?

Above post...George at Earthy Goodness kitchen on you tube I try a lot of his receipes. Fab!
Latest one is a beans and green base ...then he shoes you three different meals using that as a base. Would recommend

On another note I made two apple pies this week and have unfortunately left one apple behind. A HUGE cooking apple.

What shall I do with it?😆

LuciferOverLancashire · 29/10/2026 17:12

@TheBrambleDormouse could you make some individual tarts with it

Baked apple, brown sugar and raisins

TheBrambleDormouse · 29/10/2026 19:41

I have completed that, thank you.
And thank you for the apple suggestions! I was thinking of making it into some apple oat fritters but your suggestions all sound more sensible!

@Snowyowl99 ..what will they use as an alternative..I think I'd rather be gassed to death than other methods I know about

I'd love to go to vegan campout.

Vegan Campout is fab

I’ve only been once - I refuse to camp so me and DH hired a motorhome - which was near enough to camping for me.

can’t afford to do that every time though.

Just gone past Greg's today, shop window full of "All Taste No Turkey" and "No Turkeys Here". Couldnt believe my eyes ar first, thought no way they'd have a vegan campaign.. Turns out it's a reference to chicken substitute for their "festive" foods. So back to Sausage Roll being the only vegan product they sell 😄
Got me thinking though... Has anyone seen any good vegan festives yet for lunch out etc?

I do enjoy a Greg's vegan sausage roll occasionally. They are salty tho and I always feel thirsty afterwards!
I am keeping my eye out for other vegan festives
Tonight is a lazy Bosch pizza with salad in front of tv with a scary film and a lit pumpkin on the fireplace
Happy Halloween 🎃 everyone

Happy Halloween!

I'm out today for an engagement celebration. The only vegan offer is 'mushroom risotto - vegetarian, can be vegan upon request'. Better than nothing I suppose. I will have a green side salad with it and a lovely vegan margarita (aka- all the margaritas!). I'm doing a hot green lentil and pumpkin salad tonight for dinner.

Have a good day. Menus seem to go between mushroom risotto or penne arriabiata in bog standard restaurants🫩 . No imagination
Enjoy the margaritas 🍹
