I'll start!

B: bran sticks and oat milk, glass of OJ.
L: Hummus and tomato toastie.
D: Stir fry: pepper, courgette, onion, garlic, ginger, carrot and Quorn chicken-style pieces, noodles and lots of soy sauce. First time I've tried the chicken-style pieces; they were on offer. Nice and low cal/high protein, but nothing special in terms of taste.
Snacks: apple, banana, bombay mix.

Skipped brekkie, lunch is tofu scramble with green beans and veggies in it on toast, covered in lovely seeds.

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 19/07/2020 11:48

Yesterday was

B: muesli with blueberries, seeds and rice milk
S: handful salted peanuts, cherries
Had friends over for distanced curry dinner, which involved Dahl, rogan Bosh (aubergine), Bosh veg pasanda, rice and HM chapatis. First attempt at chocolate mousse using silken tofu. 2 of the 3 non vegans liked/loved it, I thought it was ok but not to rave about. Also drank far too much brandy which I'm paying for now Grin

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 19/07/2020 16:14

Yesterday was:
L: falafel, hummus, sugar snap peas and Swedish style crispy flatbreads
Didn’t really have a “dinner”, was in a bit of a grump when we got back from the beach so grazed on an apricot, some olives, a few boiled potatoes and blistered shishito peppers

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 19/07/2020 23:05

Big brunch of hash browns x2, shroomdog x2, cherry tomatoes roasted in chilli oil and then mixed with seasoned spinach, baked beans, scrambled tofu (first attempt) and a slice of naturli buttered toast

Dinner was a takeaway graze box from a Mauritian street food restaurant. Rainbow rice and veg filled wrap, corn cakes, samosas, mango chilli hummus and giant tortilla chips (think size of your hand), strawberries, grapes, pineapple with mint and tamarind, Turkish delight and a coconut dessert with pineapple and mint salsa. Yum 😋

B: seeds, nuts, berries, yogurt

Breathmiller · 21/07/2020 20:28

I know this isn't the intention of this thread but I have been a constant yoyo dieter my whole life and lost weight/put on weight. Constantly in flux between feast or famine.
My new plan (which is working well) is NEVER to diet again. But to have breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and lessen snacks. Some days healthier than others. Sometimes a treat (like my nomo bar) but with a meal. Some lighter meals if I'm not hugely hungry but no missing meals.
This thread is helping so much. As well as giving good ideas for meals it just reminds me that 3 meals a day is perfectly normal and healthy. It's a bit of a reset.
I feel so much better.

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 22/07/2020 08:43

Yesterday was

B/L: fresh pineapple, grapes, 2 English muffins split, toasted and buttered with naturli. One was topped with some baked beans, the other with marmite

Dinner was in a pub last night, first time since before lockdown. My dinner was the only vegan options, but it was nice nonetheless. Hummus and tortilla chips plus a couple of olives and gherkins from the starter of the DDs, followed by veg tagine and rice

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 22/07/2020 08:52

@Breathmiller I'm not sure what the original intent of this type of post is, other than curiosity about what other people eat and getting ideas. I think of it like looking at what the person in front of you has on the conveyor belt in the shop Grin. I'm not quite a yo-yo dieter, but have a tendency to gluttony which together with being the kind of food person that often wakes up thinking about what's for dinner can lead to wright gain. Best thing for me was discovering I could handle intermittent fasting a few years ago, which I've done on and off (more on than off) since. Glad you've found something that works for you too

Breathmiller · 22/07/2020 09:17

parttimedomesticgoddess
Yes i hear you. Different strokes for different folks. I had an eating disorder when I was younger and I've realised that intermittent fasting doesn't work for me as it edges me into denial then i over do it. Its about finding our own way that helps. I think ways that have worked for me in the oast have changed too with the onset of the menopause.

I like the idea we are sneaking a peek at everyone's conveyer belt Grin. This thread is the food equivalent of looking at people's living rooms when the lights are on at nightime but the curtains are open. Grin.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 22/07/2020 16:43

I love nosing at other people’s conveyor belt too!!

I’ve def erred into using this thread as a way to control what I eat and notice if I’ve eaten a lot I don’t report but you’re right that’s not the point of the thread, the point I think is to be inspired by other vegan diets and to show how much variety and joy there is in eating this way

Breathmiller · 22/07/2020 22:48

Yes definitely. A great way to share ideas.

B. I forgot Grin
L. Sandwich
D. 3 curries and rice (lentil dhal, potato and spinach, chickpea curry)
Supper (instead of breakfast).my first attempt at home made salad pesto with what i had in the fridge.

Some mixed salad leaves and some rocket
Lemon juice
Walnuts
Cashews
Garlic
Water
Whizzed up then
Olive oil.

I had it with oatcakes spread with tahini and it was delicious

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 23/07/2020 00:04

Hotel breakfast, and vegan fail for me. Stayed in a hotel run by a family member and requested non-dairy items as part of my breakfast. Tasted the buttered toast and said to DD 'that's not Flora' to be told by family member that it was definitely dairy free. So I carried on eating. Asked the brand, and was told arla which research now shows is lactose free. Not entirely sure how to tell said well intentioned family member that lactose free and dairy free are not the same thing. Anyway, breakfast was fruit salad, toast and jam, cooked breakfast.

D: summer pasta from lazy cat kitchen (thanks to @Is2020OverYet) with added spinach and capers

S: nectarine, pineapple, dates, handful tortilla chips and guacamole, peanut flapjack bar thing (meh) and family size bag of Thai crackers

Am trying to post last thing before bed or the following day as otherwise I find I don't declare late night snacks. Not out of deceit, more out of positive intent not corrected iyswim. And I rarely mention my alcohol consumption which is less controlled than my eating...

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 23/07/2020 00:08

Am so pleased you know what I mean about looking at the food shop items of others. Is anyone clever enough to come up with a new thread title that incorporates looking at conveyor belts then?

The best I can do is
What I ate today vegan style (or looking at each other's conveyor belts)

But it's not as pithy as I'd like 😂

Hangingover · 23/07/2020 02:36

B: peanut tofu in a bread roll
L: train mix
D: vegan tacos

Babyvibe · 23/07/2020 04:11

Breakfast- porridge with banana and soya milk
Lunch- green salad with sweetcorn, avocado, couscous, tomatoes
Dinner- veggie bean burger with garlic salt wedges.
Snacks- strawberries, grapes, peanut butter, bourbons
I'm not fully vegan but really trying to be. Loving all the meal ideas!

BeneathTheMilkyTwilight · 23/07/2020 07:49

I like the concept of looking at each other's conveyer belts. I have a bit of a stupid sense of humour and to me it sounds slightly suggestive 😏

B: seeds, nuts, fruit, soya yogurt
L: carrot and seed loaf, tofu, dried apricots (weird lunch but had to grab something quickly for a packed lunch)
D: mushroom rice with pine nuts
S: raw veg, a pear, an oggs lemon cake, an alpro chocolate dessert, some dark chocolate and some jelly sweets. That's a bit embarrassing written down! I have a sweet tooth when tired and stressed and I'm both right now. I would like to lose weight so maybe writing it down and being more aware will help.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 23/07/2020 14:01

I find I’m just picking rather than having proper meals in the evenings are the moment

L: lentil soup and a peanut butter and chocolate protein ball
D/S: leftover veggie tagine, grilled cheese sandwich, cashew yoghurt, veggie potstickers, olives

PartTimeDomesticGoddess · 23/07/2020 22:53

L: lots of salad in a sandwich with salad cream on M&S bakery wholemeal (note to self, beetroot on the side next time). 2 plums

S: 2 dates, small crust of the same log with naturli and marmite

D: sort of Boxing Day type spread. 2 small sausage rolls, 2 mini spiced veg things from M&S, 2 mini pakoras. Hummus and veg sticks. Chickpea, tomato and rose harissa salad. Part baked bread and posh vegan cheese. And a vegan huggs brownie, not quite decided what I thought of it so will definitely have another one tomorrow to decide Grin

Does anyone have a good brownie recipe to share? I haven't had great success with flax eggs and a lot seem to use that

The sausage rolls were a triumph though. Ready rolled puff pastry wrapped around Richmond sausages, sealed and brushed with milk before baking.
