Can we please have a 'What I ate today' thread, vegan style?

I'll start!

B: bran sticks and oat milk, glass of OJ.
L: Hummus and tomato toastie.
D: Stir fry: pepper, courgette, onion, garlic, ginger, carrot and Quorn chicken-style pieces, noodles and lots of soy sauce. First time I've tried the chicken-style pieces; they were on offer. Nice and low cal/high protein, but nothing special in terms of taste.
Snacks: apple, banana, bombay mix.

D: jackfruit coconut curry and rice
A gin and a beer

disclaimer I might have sampled a fair amount of the jackfruit curry before dinner during prep and as a consequence I am stuffed

IJumped We're mid west, 2 hours straight in land from La Rochelle. We travel (well we did!) to and from Sth England a lot. Yes the markets are fab!

B. Nectarine in a bowl with leftover smoothie.
L.Beetroot\cucumber juice with spelt toast dipped with tahini
D/s HM courgette curry and rice with raita

B: toast, naturli, marmite, orange juice followed by coffee and 2 hobnobs
L: potato wedges, bean burger (no bun), nacho cheese, homemade guacamole
D: will be smoked tofu, couscous with raisins, sun dried tomatoes and peas, houmous and pitta
S: bowl of Eat Real quinoa puffs, apple, date and walnuts

Yes I know!!!!! Grin I don't usually eat crisps at home, apart from, sometimes, the mixed veg ones when I'm travelling!

Am writing down my plan for today in the hope I’ll stick to it!! So doing it in advance rather than what I ended up eating hopefully to remind myself I don’t need to snack in the evening!!

Oh dear IJumped That's the problem with home baking. it's very difficult to just 'taste' one of anything !! Grin Crumpets least of all !!!

That's why upthread I recommended Paul Mackenna's weight loss plan that is full of commonsense help (despite the stupid title) !

D: did a southern style dinner of hopping John (smoky black eyed peas), Limpin Susan (okra), roasted okra and courgette fritters

Sounds like you still have plenty of courgettes IJumped Do you grow them ? I love the young yellow ones too.

B. Leftover smoothie
L. pea, beetroots fried gently in olive oil with garlic and onion, with tahini. and ryvitas
Sn.S/ Strawberries, loganberries, peaches. and some blackberries ! The lovely organic fruit farm producers open today from their place.

Yes we seem to have a veritable jungle!! Have discovered a neighbour has a lizard who loves them so I’ve been passing them onto him as well. Going away for the weekend with friends (we’ve all tested and been self isolating so we’re safe) and I’m in charge of food - going to make the HFW tahini green bean squash salad in veg every day I think!

Fritters went down well with one child. I might stay putting them into the kids smoothies

A lizard that loves courgettes !!!!! I thought they were carnivores!!!

B. strawberry/peach/ date/linseed smoothie ( I tried to grind them and had to add water to get any results, so making a sort of linseed jelly that I put in the smoothie!)
L.Tahini\pea and linseed jelly dip with spring onions and lettuce, it needed garlic but is a good texture. with ryvitas to dip in.
Sn.S. Some of the smoothie with walnuts, and figs.

Hello all
Can i join?
I'll list mine today then go back and get ideas.

Breakfast

  • smoothie bowl with soya yoghurt whizzed up with strawberries, redcurrants and maple syrup . Topped with nuts seeds, flaked coconut and fruit.
  • lunch .. home made celery soup from Clean Food Dirty Girl and 2 slices of GF toast with hummous, part baked tomatoes and spinach.

Dinner tonight will be ...linda McCartney burger with salad and sweet potato fries.
Since it's Friday Ill also have some white wine, lentil curls and a Nomo bar for later.

L: smoked tofu and lentil dish with courgettes, red pepper, red onion and cherry tomatoes. A rhubarb spring water drink
Mid afternoon: earl grey tea and 3 booja booja truffles
D: will be potato wedges, chilli and nacho cheese with a glass of wine

@Breathmiller I buy it I'm afraid. From Kinda Co. They do nice vegan feta and garlic and herb cheese and various others but they're not cheap.
