What's with these parents taking massive trolleys when they go out for a day with preschool kids?

Is it something that we didn't know that we didn't have back in the day when we all just seemed to manage or are they unnecessary for lazy kids?
they seem to have bloody fans attached them as well

I wouldn't have thought 10 year old would be in them TBH - though they might like adults dump the stuff in them rather than be weighed down by carrying.

We had family friends with disabled child -- could walk a bit but tired easily - they had an adpative pushchair well into primary school years and people commented all time he was too old - mum said it was a relief when they went to a more obvious wheel chair.

I can believe it as DS looked older than he was so at 3 - he could and often did walk for miles with backpack as we do not drive- but sometime he'd be in pushcair (often swapping for bit with youngest child) people always commented and often insisted he must be older than he was - often before puting their kids in a car and driving off.

”It’s funny how we are quite happy to accept other labour saving devices like washing machines, dishwashers, robot hoovers, cars even, but look down on these. I am sure my mum was a lot fitter dragging the washing from the twin tub with the tongs to the mangle but I am not going back there.”
