The best conspiracy theory you’ve heard.

I thought I had managed to curate a lovely instagram algorithm, meadows, wildlife, horses, country gardens all peaceful and calm. I’ve no idea what happened but last night it was rudely interrupted with many videos about project blue beam, holographic images of a spaceship and clones. I mean I’d love to see an actual UFO but these things are batshit.

Now I’m intrigued by conspiracy theories, I can’t believe there are folks who have so much belief in some of them.

During lockdown I was furloughed as i worked for Virgin as cabin crew. Husbsnd still worked as he was nignt time security in a prison.
I got very very into the controversial side of 9/11. I watched loads of conspiracy theories on it. Left absolutely baffled by it all but wss vrry interesting to watch.

Oh there are some good ones, Loose Change is probably the most famous.

But one thing I have not found an explanation from that isn't sinister is the way the stock market changed just before 9/11. To me that indicates that somebody knew (apart from the hijackers) something was going to happen with US airlines.

A lot of the CT leave out relevant information eg the one about the Titanic being the Olympic and it being deliberately sank.

The information they completely leave out is that the Olympic was out at sea and went to the aid of the Titanic.

I've just watched one on Shaun Attwood. Apparently CERN is something to do with Satanists and Luciferists (who are apparently different).

There is no evidence that the stock markets in the US or anywhere else were affected by advance information about 9/11, whether known to Al Qaeda or, supposedly, anyone else. There was stock movement in US carriers but investigation revealed no link to 9/11 - one seller actually then bought stock in the same airlines before 9/11.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 28/06/2026 13:22

My colleague told me quite stony faced that mermaids exist but 'they' keep it quiet because they don't want the world to know. I dont think the 'they' was the mermaids themselves but whoever is running the world, no doubt another conspiracy theory. I didn't enquire and just nodded and smiled.

if the stock market players are smart enough eg bobby axelrod type intelligence then they are hardly gonna make rookie errors when trading on insider information ?

It was thoroughly investigated. The origins and causes of the buying and selling was looked into.

If you want to say that no investigation can be trusted or can be fooled you may as well say that no market information can be trusted, so there’s no reason to think there was any suspicious market movement in the first place.

and you can then tell me that no one can be brought, bribed, manipulated, and every gov offical every trader, every person on wall street, can all be fully trusted when theres millions at hand based on insider trading etc ?

mumumental · 29/06/2026 22:13

I was sent a crazy one about the NHS, I can’t remember the subject, but a research article by surgeons was quoted as evidence. I looked up the article, and the conspiracy theorist had lifted half a paragraph entirely out of context, to entirely change the meaning, and built their argument around it.

I have just had this absolutely splendid piece of next-level tinfoil-hatshittery served up to me on FB: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18wPSiZ12A/
Apparently the large Hadron collider is opening portals, and/or speeding up time, and the planned shut-down for four years is going to close these portals, although someone in the comments points out that they're wormholes, not portals, because base 10 DNA doesn't allow access to the 22 planetary portals. If you do treat yourself to a little look at the comments, you will learn all about how we're going to become 5-D in a shift akin to the Rapture and we're heading for the 7th Great Reset, which may or may not be something to do with AI, and obvs that the last shutdown was behind the pandemic. I decided at that point that that was probably enough Internet for one day 🧐

ReleaseTheDucksOfWar · 30/06/2026 08:24

@AWeeCupOfTeaAndAnIndividualFruitTrifle I'm afraid at the point you said this What about the conspiracy theories that are presented to us in the UK as the official narrative: i.e. that the official narrative from Russia or Iran is a lie? you lost all credibility.

If you seriously think that Russia isn't lying to its people and to everyone else, you really are a danger to yourself never mind anyone else. And if you think Iran hasn't murdered a lot of its own people for wanting better treatment of women, shame on you.

but how much does society know about the fabric of the universe or multi dimensions, or time travel etc, not saying they are wrong or right

the thing is at some point the world does need a one world govt

And you're happy with that government consisting of billionaires and their cronies who have their own agendas and decide to buy their way into it - with no whiff of any democratic process?

If you want to doubt everything you have to start with the conspiracy theory itself. That’s the least plausible thing by a million miles. If you don’t doubt that, what’s the point of doubting anything else?

Conspiracy theorists have to invent ever more ludicrous explanations to keep their pet theories alive. That’s says lots about them and nothing about the truth.

No, you've absolutely and completely misunderstood the point that I was making.

Of course we all know full well that Russia, Iran and other countries continually lie to and deliberately deceive and abuse their citizens all of the time.

My point is that people will take this obvious fact as read, but in the next breath will pompously deny that any western government could or would ever do anything that isn't fully above board - because that would be 'conspiracy theories' and they know that ALL conspiracy theories are bonkers and the people who even remotely pursue or believe in any of them are dangerously deluded.

David Kelly's death wasn't suspicious; Blair & Campbell and others didn't deliberately release a completely invented dossier of 'proof' to justify starting a war; Epstein did genuinely kill himself just as the heat was rising and he could have easily squealed and taken down a lot of powerful and influential people who were deeply implicated in his evil; successive governments haven't lied repeatedly about the post office scandal and gaslit and wilfully denied justice to the victims whilst still continuing to award lucrative new contracts to Fujitsu.............

Unless we're talking about Russia, of course - in which case the only bonkers people are the ones who don't believe in the truth of all conspiracy theories.

The cognitive dissonance is off the scale.

Eh? So because a lot of people are more interested in gossip and football, we assume that nobody else except the rich and self-important can understand what's good for us? That's a very low bar to set for people as a whole.

Nobody is saying that democracy is perfect or infallible in the least; it's just the least bad system available to us. It's very possible to end up with a bad choice, but they are the people's majority choice, and they can be later removed.

If I were a multi-millionaire and I came to buy a house on your street, would you be happy to accept me telling everybody on the street how they must live their lives... because I'm mega rich and self-important? If not, why is it different if it's the whole country, or even the world?

the public cannot seem to be able to understand immigration issues or debate them without various arguments happening, or slander etc so why or how should they be trusted on important issues ?

I agree that there's a huge, huge amount that we don't know - quantum mechanics, for a start, is utterly fascinating but absolutely makes my head spin. That post and the commenters, though - people saying that they could feel the difference already, attributing the end of the heatwave to the collider being turned off, and confident in their certainty about it all. It's just all a bit David Icke.

could you tell me with 100% certain that they dont already do that via the media ? after all which big names own the media empires ?

I only just received notification of your reply!

I agree with you wholeheartedly. The only two things I'd say are 1) there's the (considerable) nuance that the wider press freedom here is imperfect but it does help against the level of control in China and Russia and 2) in support of your argument about coverups - this shocks me still and no one seems to remember it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westminster_paedophile_dossier
