The case of Elisa Lam fascinates me.

vigilantcitizen.com/vigilantreport/mysterious-case-elisa-lam/

The poor girl obviously went through "something" before her death. She was found in the rooftop water tank above a LA hotel. Her clothes were never found, the CCTV is creepy and her family will likely never have the answers :(

What do you make of it? Any mysteries that also fascinate you?

The Keddie Murders

Summary: April 1981, three brutal murders in Cabin 28, with a fourth victim abducted from the scene (her remains were found a few years later). The brutal attack is said to have taken about ten hours. Yet despite the brutality, two of the three young boys in the cabin (who were unarmed) slept through it, and the account of the third has changed several times. Furthermore, the neighboring cabins were within yards of Cabin 28, and no-one heard a thing. And even several other cabins were just a few feet away.

I've attached a photo showing Cabin 28, and you can see just how close the neighboring cabins are, especially the one on the right.

Baffling!

Just noticed that Taman Shud was found on the same beach where the Beaumont children disappeared.
Shock

The Hinterkaifeck murders remind me of a murder case in the US where it turned out the murderer had been living in the victim's attic for several months. The murderer killed the victim after he found him creeping around at night and continued to live in the unoccupied house for several months afterwards. Apparently he had a condition which meant he could squeeze into very small spaces. I wish I could remember enough to find it via google - it's on wiki.

This story

always gives me the genuine chills.

Someone found the polaroid photo on the ground in a mall car park after a white van had driven off. The girl in the photo is thought by some to be Tara Calico. Her body has never been found Sad .

It's a bit distressing so don't click if you're easily upset.

furcoatbigknickers · 23/09/2014 17:47

I don't get how people were unsure it was her, who else could it be?Confused

BunnyLebowski · 23/09/2014 17:54

How do you mean furcoat?

The results of photo analysis by the FBI were inconclusive. It hasn't been confirmed that it was her. Her mother said it was but that might have been wishful thinking on her part (believing she was still alive).

Given that the FBI estimates that there are between 35 and 50 serial killers operating in the U.S.A at any given time it could be someone else. An unknown victim.

furcoatbigknickers · 23/09/2014 18:02

Oh i see

furcoatbigknickers · 23/09/2014 18:03

Was in found in the local area?

LoonytoadQuack · 23/09/2014 18:16

BunnyLebowski · 23/09/2014 18:17

I love a mystery. Just casually marking my place. Grin

HangingBasketCase · 23/09/2014 18:26

I was going to suggest the Beaumont children. Horribly disturbing case, and no evidence has ever been found of them.

EverythingIsAwesome · 23/09/2014 18:32

Just reading the Tara Calico case ... I dont think the polaroid looks like her - completely different eyebrows.

It reminds me of the death of Annie Borjesson. www.scottishreview.net/KennethRoy115c.shtml

BunnyLebowski · 23/09/2014 18:54

I don't think it's her either Everything.

I wonder who it is Sad .

NoImaginationUsername · 23/09/2014 18:58

Dozens of unidentifed dead people out there. Some of the US ones are mind boggling. The Sharon Marshall case and the Lori Erica Ruff case are two of the most 'stand out' cases, but there are literally thousands more

So many of them appear to be so distintive that you can't believe they are unidentified. This young Grateful Dead fan died in 1995 and seems so damn distintive.

This lady was 9 months pregnant as was this lady found in 1976 who had some strange numbers and letters written on her hand.

There are are many more I could post. Some have thousands of pounds of recent dental work. It just blows my mind.
