That is a fantastic picture Monika, brought a smile to my face.

I know I look at that photo now and can't believe we once had grass! They are both adorable aren't they.

Off to the frozen waste-land now to muck out. We've got freezing fog here this morning as well not nice.

Hope you had a good birthday.

mysterymoniker · 27/01/2009 09:30

it was good, thanks

freezing fog here too, have just sneaked back in to defrost slightly . . .

lots of poorly ponies at our yard at the moment, am trying not to worry (although they all seem to be getting over it quickly with and without anti-biotics)

Aww, I missed the Percheron!! So many favourites! That photo (big & small) just doesn't look real, does it!? I wish I had a stable to muck out, I miss it

mysterymoniker · 27/01/2009 17:03

would it be a bit too difficult at the moment with the children or could you have one on loan for a while?

I don't do as much with mine as I could/should but on the whole he's a life saver

Pixel · 28/01/2009 00:11

We haven't had an appaloosa yet have we? I just love spotties.

LadyOfWaffle · 28/01/2009 00:18

Too much with the DSs at the moment. Been keeping an eye out for a new one though. If I ever get a house with land/stables (yeah right!) I would get one like a shot.

hatwoman · 28/01/2009 00:31

I am a non-horsey imposter who has stumbled on your lovely lovely thread by accident late at night. Apologies if it's been done (I'm too tired to check all of them) but may I be permitted to make mention of the utterly adorablehaflinger. I had one when I was little. he was lovely. and pretend. iirc he was called Coffee.

mysterymoniker · 28/01/2009 17:26

lovely choices for today pixel and hatwoman! [thumbs up]

OP posts:
snoringnightmare · 29/01/2009 14:54

Monika, great video. I'm with you though, not sure about the diet! Kept looking at it thinking this can't be real. But seemed to be didn't it.

Hatwoman, I like your ideal horse. Particularly the cost of keeping it!

Pixel · 29/01/2009 19:32

Lovely!

Perhaps we ought to have some icelandic horses as well, just so they don't feel left out.

Sorry to go off-topic, but can I just ask if any of you are struggling with the shavings shortage where you are? I've got rubber matting which is great but do a small shavings bed across one corner. Haven't been able to get any shavings for about four weeks now.

Supplier tells me he hopes to get some this week but no guarantees. I'm down to my last quarter of a bale. Help!
