I have a Fell too!

mysterymoniker · 23/01/2009 18:40

I think we finish in June, am doing the nvq as well which is continuous assessment and much less stressful - I hate exams

there are some beautiful fells at our yard, but no dales. have we had a dales yet on this thread?

LadyOfWaffle · 23/01/2009 22:03

Oh, what are you doing your NVQ in? Whereabouts are you? I was doing a Diploma in Equine Studies at Merrist Wood , but fell off and hurt my back and haven't ridden much since.

Thunderduck · 24/01/2009 01:29

When will arabians get their turn?

mysterymoniker · 24/01/2009 09:19

LoW, horse care via satellite scheme from Otley College - it was just a 'personal enrichment' thing and a route to heavily subsidised riding lessons but then I bought the horse I had on loan and it became imperative to learn stuff about him!

ok thunderduck! behold the arabian!

why are they soooo beautiful though?

OP posts:
Thunderduck · 24/01/2009 09:57

Thankyou.

They are my favourite breed. And they are stunningly beautiful. I particuarly love the blacks. www.blackarabs.com/jafar1.jpg

I want one now.

mysterymoniker · 24/01/2009 10:01

sharp intake of breath

I forgot how beautiful they are - but even if I had one it wouldn't look like that for long in this country at this time of year!

Thunderduck · 24/01/2009 10:13

When dp and I emigrate I've told him the first thing we must buy is an arab. The very first thing, we can look for a house later.

mysterymoniker · 24/01/2009 10:16

I love the shape of their faces

What's a satellite scheme? I love Arabs too but abit flighty for me! Although reading the 'Jinny' series made me want one when I was younger

Pixel · 24/01/2009 14:23

Mystery, I once had to look after a friend's arabs as she was in hospital with pneumonia. Even in the middle of winter and only coming in at night their coats were still wonderfully smooth and silky. Not at all like our scruffy oiks in the next paddock!
Since I've apparently got to do a pic, here's a lovely arabian by the brilliant Mr Stubbs

LadyOfWaffle · 25/01/2009 10:59

Can we have connemara today?

LadyOfWaffle · 25/01/2009 11:01

A wild one I think...

LadyOfWaffle · 25/01/2009 11:03

My favourite breed changes every day now!

snoringnightmare · 25/01/2009 11:08

LoW, they are gorgeous aren't they. I had them on my shortlist when I was looking recently.

mysterymoniker · 25/01/2009 11:15
