I've just looked at 'my mumsnet' and clicked on 'photos'. There is a box under each one where you can choose 'visible to any mumsnetter', have you got that on yours?

pamplemousse · 14/01/2009 20:16

Yes all visible to all mumsnetters, but when I look at my page it doesn't have that pamplemousses pictures clicky bit, weird?

Well you've got it now! Just looked at your lovely pics and seen that you are on the south coast, same as me!

Pixel, aren't there ever any local shows that you could ride to? Alternatively, try putting an ad up for transport share in your local tack shops. There may well be someone going to the same sort of shows you'd fancy who'd appreciate some company and a bit of a contribution towards the petrol.

aaaahhhhhhh beautiful! why can I never get such nice pics of my boy posing like that? he always hangs his head looking like he is waiting to be turned into glue!

(I was depressed about my flat tyre but it all came good in the end!)

Nekabu, there were loads of shows round here once upon a time, when I was a teenager we used to be able to hack to a different one every weekend in the summer holidays. Now there doesn't seem to be anything within hacking distance. There is a very nice new lady at our place who has unfortunately lost her husband and had to sell their welsh pony stud but she has kept 3 of the ponies. She says she wants to start showing her youngest filly this year and she has her own trailer so you never know!

Icelandic pony is a stunner .

I used to love that one in the Observer book of horses and ponies, which I still have somewhere. Its coat looked like it was made of gold - beautiful!

I have neglected this thread!

how about the new forest for today? am sad that they have been in the news so much lately for car related accidents but on the whole I don't really 'get' this breed, as in, I wouldn't know one unless it was pointed out to me

Aww, missed the akhal teke!

I love New Forest ponies - I live (sort of) near so get to see them alot when we drive through. Nice to still see 'wild' horses about, but quite odd seeing them standing outside shops etc!

Oh, the stables I went to bred highlands The only two I have ridden though were very hard work - one was in my BHS riding exam and I cried because he wouldn't move They are very lovely though - placid. Are you going through all the natives?

Report
mysterymoniker · 23/01/2009 15:18

I seem to keep coming back to them! Did you pass? I'm only just doing my stage 1 at the advanced age of nearly 38

I'd like a native though, maybe a Fell

Yes, thank god we had to ride 2 different horses and the other one was OK Have you done it yet? It was very nerve wracking but really only the simply bits of horse husbandry etc. (theory part) I don't think I have ever seen a Fell, a friend had a Dales ... as far as I remember, may have been a Fell, I am not sure I could tell them apart!
