You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

Laura from Teacher Tapp, re-tweeted this from her local councillor.
Makes a valid point.
Wouldn’t solve the repeated self isolations but would go towards the safety of school staff.

Chris Whitty (has taken lessons from Bob) probably called the cabinet team a bunch of fucking cunts in the meeting today

It must be tough for Chris dealing with idiots all the time. Though he hides it well there is a tone of despair in his voice when answering questions sometimes. He stands there thinking why don’t they learn.

So its the same as they did before.

Yet they are expecting a different outcome.

There is a saying about that.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 21/02/2021 23:27

Sometimes you can feel the eye roll he want's to give when Boris is talking. I want to be there when he takes a leaf out of Bob's book and calls Boris a fucking cunt live during a press briefing though.

Honestly, you get a sense that Boris is taking things unusually cautiously for him and that the penny might be dropping and build up hope. And then the next minute it's all Big Bang and opening schools all at once.

Can we not just leave Boris to planning roundabouts under the Isle of Man and have some adults leading the country?

MrsHamlet · 21/02/2021 23:28

Is it "fucking morons"?

WhenSheWasBad · 21/02/2021 23:29

I’m just hoping there’s some extremely bright epidemiologists behind this plan.

It just feels like a recipe for disaster. If numbers stay low into summer I’ll happily hold my hand up and say I was wrong.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 21/02/2021 23:30

I feel like things would be going better if we had some sort of opposition party who weren't all busy fighting each other.

Sadly, numbers aren't even low now. We've just become so desensitised to looking at stupidly high numbers that we've forgotten that 10,000 cases per day is still very high.

Close enough :)
JanFebAnyMonth · 21/02/2021 23:34

All of that, and I can't find my lanyard. I like my lanyard. Angry

Symbolic Harriet.....

MrsHamlet · 21/02/2021 23:43

We all need to be more Bob and just say "fuckit"
If only fuckit paid the bills.

StaffRepFeistyClub · 21/02/2021 23:51

@MrsHamlet I think people outside the Staffroom are starting to think who the hell is Bob? They are probably concerned that he is in Francesca's class drawing penises in her book whilst shouting fucking cunt at Henry. They shouldn't be so concerned about the impact of COVID on education but should be more concerned about the impact of Bob.

I'm so pissed off!

If they'd taken it slow like they promised, it wouldn't just be a repeat of the autumn term of isolating bubbles.

This way they're risking another lockdown, another term of rising r numbers, more risk of mutant variants developing, greater harm to the children's mh.

I really don't see how we're any better off than January in schools!

HarrietDVane · 21/02/2021 23:51

@JanFebAnyMonth

Symbolic Harriet.....
I'm assuming it's hiding out somewhere along with the last shreds of my sanity.
rainingcats · 21/02/2021 23:54

There I was about to drift off to sleep when the alert piped up on my phone - all schools back from the 8th

I am so angry!

How can anybody think that all pupils back to school on the same day is a good idea?!

Is Boris hoping unions refuse to allow such plans to go ahead therefore once again making teachers look like the bad guys in the media while Boris can shrug his shoulders and say not my problem I wanted schools to go back

I need a gin

HarrietDVane · 21/02/2021 23:55

Is it wrong that I am mentally running a sweepstake on how long it will take for the first bubble to burst at school this week? We had two go bang in the week before half term. Mine hasn't burst since Christmas, so it's probably my turn next... Hmm

MrsHamlet · 22/02/2021 00:01

I did think that Staff
Bob is now my permanent companion outside the staffroom. We can keep him in the cupboard with the copier paper. No chair, obviously

SquashedFlyBiscuits · 22/02/2021 00:37

Re 8th, I can only say - piss, bugger, damm, shit, fuck, bastard.
Have given up now. Might as well let all the swears out.

@callmeangelina ideas for your zooms next week. Making a chocolate mug cake in the microwave then eating them and chatting went down really well with my lks2s. Also baby photo quiz. Parents sent them in and the children loved guessing - put some staff ones in there too.

JanFebAnyMonth · 22/02/2021 05:29

Typical, woke in night like I do every night before a day in school. Hopefully this will decrease now am in twice a week?

Press all reporting Johnson's "cautious approach". Which I can see is accurate in many ways - apart from to schools! People are either ignoring schools or not understanding what happens in them. Both I guess.

Press conference at 7pm apparently although in Commons at 3.30.

Hope others are having peaceful nights.

borntobequiet · 22/02/2021 05:39

I have met many apprentice Bobs who have called Boris a fucking cunt.
They see him as the worst sort of bloke, privileged, with no morals. They wouldn’t want to work for him or be friends with him.

phlebasconsidered · 22/02/2021 05:54

What a fucking wanker Boris is.

Saucery · 22/02/2021 06:33

Right, that’s me off for minimum 24 hours every single time I get a single possible symptom, off for a test.
I think the leaking announcements to the press is a shitty way to behave, but at least it gets the plummeting elevator stomach feeling out the way nice and early and I don’t have to listen that useless bag of nonsense speak later today.

I don’t wear my lanyard. It’s an infection hazard, as grabbed more often by inquisitive Small People than you might think.

motherrunner · 22/02/2021 06:34

I’ll be missing both the press conference as have Parents Evening til 8. Probably a blessing!
