You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

Nobletta

I’m very tempted to try that one on baby names. What would be a good middle name? Or is it perhaps a good middle name in itself?

borntobequiet · 14/02/2021 16:41

And how pronounced?

Piggywaspushed · 14/02/2021 16:42

camelopardalus , obviously...

Nobletta Camelopardalus Narciso-Smith.

Piggywaspushed · 14/02/2021 16:43

The how pronounced debate would bring out all the pedants on MN names thread, for sure. Could be fun.

Saucery · 14/02/2021 16:44

I hate to micturate on their mashed potatoes but I’m not even in a Union at the moment. Grin

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 14/02/2021 16:44

Piggy I'll give you a nudge if my DH hears about his jab as we both have similarly afflicted DHs I'm not holding my breath either.

MrsHamlet · 14/02/2021 16:44

Nobletta Camelopardalus Narciso-Smith.
Just checking - if I call her just "Nobletta" rather than her full name, will you send an arsy email to ofsted?

Piggywaspushed · 14/02/2021 16:45

Good idea pussycat. I'll let you know how he gets on shouting atwith GP!

MrsHerculePoirot · 14/02/2021 16:46

Re group 6, I am diabetic so maybe more straightforward. I was asked what my clinical vulnerability was when I was jabbed...

You couldn't really shorten it to Nob, could you...
Piggywaspushed · 14/02/2021 16:48

Oh no MrsH because I am going to fashion a suitable feisty nickname for her. Am toying with Lettie as that sounds suitably Blyton. Might go for Nobby as that could be a boy and we all know girls with boys' names are suspiciously rebellious in books. Probably grew up to be suffragettes or NEU members.

Tbf, I work for the NHS so I bypassed the whole thing and went under frontline and extremely high or high risk staff. Which seems to have been simpler as they use a different criteria for severe asthma. God knows when I’d have got it otherwise. By the time the GP has individually assessed every asthma patient they’ll probably be down to group 9 anyway.
noblegiraffe · 14/02/2021 16:54

Nobletta

Not sure about ‘gang’, bit of a demotion from when I used to have fangirls and cheerleaders. Maybe I need to start more threads, rise through the rankings again.

thecatfromjapan · 14/02/2021 17:04

Wow! noble. I'm a bit late to the party but what a thread!

FrippEnos · 14/02/2021 17:07

noblegiraffe

Weren't you a duchess (some royal title) at one point as well?

Staffdontblowitnow · 14/02/2021 17:08

Ah yes - the 'my husband is a teacher/deputy/head' stuff is starting to arrive. We need to bring back school thread bingo

When I'm better may I be a cheerleader please?
OpheliasCrayon · 14/02/2021 17:10

@rafals what do you do you work as in the NHS?

Piggywaspushed · 14/02/2021 17:18

That's the thrid book noble. Hold your horses :-

The Daffodil Gang 3: Nobletta's Cheerleaders

High on lashings of handgel, Nobletta's Daffodil Gang secretly prop open all the windows at Sir Joe Wicks School . When one of the rival gang falls through an open window, heads must roll. Will Nobletta's union chums be able to save her now as they fight for her survival from expulsion and ignominy? The other girls plot to save her by leanings chants and constructing yellow pom poms, as the deadline of March 8th looms ever closer.

Piggywaspushed · 14/02/2021 17:19

dammit learning chants.

Don’t remember being a duchess, Fripp, but I very much remember being a Dangerous High Priestess of Misinformation.

That’s my ultimate favourite insult, even ahead of the time a certain regular teacher basher said she’d been to more teacher award ceremonies than me.

HercwasanEnemyofEducation · 14/02/2021 17:22

More teacher award ceremonies 😂

Real teachers know those things are BS anyway.
